Hacking a 'real' wbfs windows port

Got it, somehow, i didn't have the choice command installed, so after a quick search on google, and a quick download, i got it to work, great job segatron!

only problem im having with the new batch file is when extracting an iso. The screen freezes but it actually finishes just doesnt tell you because of it freezing.

Great job. However, it doesnt recognize long titles. Like I have "Golds Gym Cardio Workout.iso". If I renamed that to GGCW.iso, it would recognize

Would be also nice to have a REFRESH button next to the BROWSE button or something and have a destination folder that is saved rather than having to search for it each time.

Just a quick reply for people who might have issues with the program not running. First tried it on vista using a transcend hd i had formatted previously from the loader. It already contained one game I ripped from the loader too.
I was getting could not open drive: no error for every single command.

There was a drive letter assigned to the disk but it could not open it. On xp works like charm and I am transfering files now.

Wait, so your suggestion is to use XP to transfer the files?

I'm on Vista and had no problem with my external harddrive.

I had old games and files on the HD. I didnt bother reformatting it through the PC. I just deleted my files, connected the HD to the Wii and the loader wanted me to reformat it. So I reformatted through the loader. Connected the HD back to my PC, loaded ISO's onto the external HD. Connected the HD back to the Wii and the loader showed my games and loaded them with no problem.

Quick question.

I have formatted my 750GB dedicating 500GB to WBFS and left the other 250GB for SNES/NES/GENESIS etc ROMs.

Does anyone know if i format the 500GB to WBFS will SNES9X GX etc be able to still read the other 250GB FAT partition?

went back to my pc plugged the hd
NO drive letter.
NO way to add a drive letter
thus winwbfs is useless.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too when I first read about this winwbfs.
I've only used the the cygwin wbfs compiled by _JL_ and it works very nicely.
What reasoning is there behind gibbed calling the cygwin version shitty? I have no problems with it at all.

TeenTin - not really, if you're on vista just run cmd as administrator, that's all I did to get it working, no need to turn of uac etc that people are so freaking fast to tell everyone to do..

Good job, though it crashes on Windows 7 after about 30 seconds

I'm an old DOS guy, though, so it's more of a heads-up than a complaint

(WBFS works fine in CMD, so I have to assume there's something it doesn't like about the GUI.)

Edit: and now it doesn't w/ the newer version you upped! I love Windows!!

Gr8 app! It made me go buy a maxtor basics external desktop hard drive (500gb/usb2.0/16mb/7200rpm) yesterday. I successfully backedup 5 games. Formated the drive with one big 500gb (primary) partition. Now my old DMS Wii with a broken laser and WiiKey v1 have come back to live!

Future addon :
* A nice GUI for thouse who can't handle comandline (seems lika a few in this thred)
* Multi add / remove iso's (Just give it the path to your iso's

)

hmm seems when I try to open this file, it gives me an error message and prompts me to send an error report. am I missing some files? Also if I open the normal wbfs file (that requires typing codes) it just opens and then closes right away.

the GUI never sees my iso at all.

i point it to the ISO folder which has a few .iso files in it and nothing shows up at all.

Dunno what's wrong
