You're telling me they just threw in some encryption just for fun? They obviously knew it would block the Gateway on the N3DS
They might have known, but if they did, they also knew it would only slow down Gateway, not stop them permanently. I get the feeling that the release timing of the N3DS was meant to try and kill flash carts, but that didn't last very long for Ninty.

Wow, this guy. Of course the Gateway card doesn't work normally no matter what firmware your 3DS is on. That's why there's a thing called "EmuNAND". Plus, Gateway still didn't release their New3DS support update yet.

Edit: Again, Gateway already explained that the new 9.5 update for New3DS is not a "definitive barrier". So it'll only be a matter of time before they can break through it.
Took them half a year last time. I wouldn't count on it being any sooner this time around. N has probably taken some notes on their previous encryption.

You're giving Nintendo entirely too much credit. If they were as competent as you claim, both Gateway and Sky3DS would be dead already.

Pft, haha! That's because making an exploit takes time and patience to completely make it work right. I mean, smealum took quite a while trying to release ninjhax and he had help with some 3dsdevs too.

Also, "taken some notes". Really? Then, how come they didn't block Sky3DS, hmm?

Because it's probably unblockable :P

Uhhhh, Nintendo blocked 9.5 emunand on the New 3DS with new encryption :/

The problem is that most people talk without knowing anything.

The fact that the N3DS gateway exploit won't support emunand 9.5 change near nothing. You'll just don't have access to the eshop, but you'll still have emunand, it'll just use the same version as your sysnand (so 8.1, 9.0 or 9.2 depending of your sysnand version).

Of course, it might break future games requiring 9.5 or exclusive N3DS games if gateway don't find a way to support it, but for now, every game already released will work without any problem and same for future ones, as long as games don't require a function that is only in 9.5.

Where there's a will there's a way. Microsoft and Sony products are still exploitable and Nintendo is no different. Sure, GW takes time to make releases, but look at what features they add - unexpectedly - with each major release. I see benefit in Sky, but will not support their product when their business model makes you buy a new card whenever they make a big change.

i bet the emunand support will be like 6.X encryption
sure, it will take a while, but they will deliver

in gw we trust guys.

Whe the hell are you guys whining about which flashcard is the best?
A product you buy is like a cock:
It has no problem that you have one and are proud of it,
but no one likes when you put it in their faces claiming it's the best.
If you're really happy with it then you shouldn't have to brag about it.
