Let me stop everyone before this gets out of hand:

Did Nintendo do this to block Gateway features? NO! The firmware changed in just the right spots so that the code insertion to make Select open the Multi-ROM menu is not in the correct location anymore. Once the new Launcher.dat is released it will correct this. Nintendo did not specifically code this in to block GW.

Do I need to restore my firmware and wait until later? No, not really, once the updated Launcher.dat is out, you can just throw it on your SD and your 9.5 emuNAND will work fine.

That means I'm upgrading the the new nintendo 3ds xl when it arrives in the USA. yeahhhh

NO. Do not mess around with cross-console NAND swapping

Nope. Emunand just like any other NAND, is unique to your console. Only through heavy editing is that you're able to come close to that which you still can't do for now. Only certain people.

To be fair, like Multiboy said they are targetted the injection exploit rather than Gateway or Gateway would be kinda fucked

those of us waiting the New 3DS update are gonna go nuts like last time when they released emunand update for 4.5 consoles, haha.

i'm going to give the GW team until the 20th that's a week after the N3DS is released is the US if what SonyUSA told us was right then we should definitely have the update by then if not then i will order SKY3DS & regret every day i wasted waiting for the N3DS update to come out & having to wait further 2 weeks for the delivery of the SKY3DS is like adding insult to injury. GATEWAY is GATEWAIT for real.

I hope this put an end to the Sky3DS patchability debate.

Theoretically, the Sky3DS is unpatchable. It emulates a real 3DS game card. It can be patched, but only with major changes to the 3DS game card verification system, which would break all cards that doesn't use the new system.
The developer who said that the Sky3DS was patchable either lied or just said it because they were angry over something.

I don't think Gateway supports the New 3DSes yet. They've shown a proof of concept video, but they haven't actually released anything yet and I'm pretty sure they said to not update past firmware 9.2..

Well, even though multirom menu is blocked, it'll be fixed on the next Gateway update. It's not really as bad as it looks since previous updates before blocked emuNAND entirely and then Gateway comes and fixes that with a new Launcher.dat.

Exactly, 9.5 and emunand "working" on it has no bearing on N3DS support.

When the day comes and Sky3DS will get blocked I will laugh my ass off and the support will just copy Gateway like all the other companies. You are doing a big mistake by denying Gateway it's the best flash card you can get at the moment. So stick with your rip off.

That is what I mean, they are working on the New Nintendo 3ds support. Not to mention, I don't think that the north american new nintendo 3ds xl machines will have firmware higher than 9.2
