no, nothing like that.
just the way he described it. the way he wrote. it was interesting and amusing, no second intentions there

Cool and sorry if i jumped the gun, we all know there's no need for it, some/alot still do it though, and it's hard to gauge when not in the physical world lol.

yeah. well.. I'm a GW supporter, no doubts about that. But I have to acknowledge Sky3DS even if I dislike them as a company.

Multiple ad cards? Scrolling? What do you mean by scrolling exactly?

There is no menu for the sky on the 3ds, as there is no unsigned code execution. The way you swap games is by pressing a button on the cartridge itself. Just say you had a 64g with 50 games inserted, it would take literally a few minutes to scroll to the say game 47.

Also the latest thing they did was un-restrict the card to unlimited games and unlimited memory cards with games (which is pretty epic). In doing this the have utilized saving on the sd instead of the cartridge's micro card as the limit on the cartridge was 10 and on the sd it's unlimited. This is great but easily patchable so i warn everyone get smaller cards and stick to 10 as when it's patched we will be reverting to max 10 saves per card.

The future of sky is exactly the old way they did it, without the blocking of extra memory card usage.

"We don't care that homebrew on the 3DS doesn't let you pirate games, we're going to issue several updates to block it despite the fact that if anything, it will drive up sales of the required game that would help us turn a profit after a long period of being in the red. Instead, we're going to take that game off the shelves and take it off our online shop so you don't get to have access to the custom content that you've been wanting since 2011 but we're too lazy to make ourselves. Until we do decide to get off our asses and make these things by the end of the system's lifetime, only to have the process recycled with the next system, you're not allowed to use a perfectly legal exploit for custom content. We could be charging you money for a SNES emulator or Minecraft on 3DS but instead we're going to put unprofitable time and effort into patching out an exploit in our system that could potentially benefit both us and our customers, whether it be in sales of Cubic Ninja or people buying 3DS systems for homebrew purposes."

Nintendo in a nutshell.

I certainly agree that Nintendo makes some quality stuff and they are not the enemy, but there are clear, objective reasons to choose Gateway over Sky3DS if you have the option/time. Price, for one. More complete feature-set for another. And, let's be honest, those are two of the best reasons to buy any product of any type over another. If you wanna talk competition, then you need two competitors performing at an equally-high skill level. Otherwise, it's just Terry Crews beating up a crippled kid.

Letting consumers exploit vulnerabilities in their console makes zero sense from any companies perspective. Just look at the ton of bricks sony shat out because cfw became so easy for users to access.

Nintendo as a company has a lot riding on the success of their handheld upcoming and otherwise. If there ever becomes a one stop solution for users to pirate games without having any loopholes to jump through (patches for online connectivity/updates, FW that blocks latest games being playable on ROMcarts w/o emunand updates) software sales would plummet, resulting in just the same psp fiasco we saw last gen.

Homebrew or otherwise, its always a good thing for the hacking/homebrew community when such exploits are available, but its actually pretty shitty for everyone in the longrun if exploits are left to run rampant.

At this rate we're never going to get Emunand support up in time for FF Explorers release...

I tried out the demo....in my opinion it was very bad...character & map design was simple. Controls wasn't smooth. Battle mechanics was poorly design and not fun at all...

Not to mention there were no 3D.

Looks like a cheap mobile game...

I had high hope for this game but it was really disappointing. Can't believe this game is the successor of Crystal Chronicles series...

Was gonna try it.. Then the 9.3 update came mid download, so now it's just sitting there.. taunting me.. Still have hopes for it.

Cool. Final question: does sky work with big blue menu? Meaning, can I install cias with it?

Gateway can easily lead to a "use the gateway once and fully unlock the 3ds" method and it would then become a tool for mod-shops and not consumers. Mod-shops will buy a few and charge like $20 to free your 3ds without a need for you to have any hardware.

They will do anything to stop this.

Similarly ask the dev of ninjahax, how much time he spent on the exploit to run hombrew and the launcher, and how much time he spent coding to keep it locked down.

There are other dev's here to that were coding in Bagh'dad when the devs of gateway and sky were still in Dad'sbag.

Unfortunately we don't live in a world of sharing, love, unicorns and all that.... As Metallica sang "sad but true".

Precedents have been set by the big gaming companies in the past. People risk for profit, not so much for helping for free. You never know maybe when Nintendo drops the heat a little, someone might bring a surprise to the community....

What about the devmenu though? Once that's installed, can't you just install anything from a .cia? And what exactly is blocked?

You have a post count of 1. I wonder which flashcard team made this account.
@Puppy_Washer
I just made an account and I am about to order my sky. I don't see why you come to that conclusion. Maybe its a good purchase now and not so much later but we will see in time. Right now, I only see one team with an actual cartridge working on 9.4X. I buy what I want...

//About this new cartridge, i feel like they jew'ed several people. Their finished product should of been that one with unlimited. I guess that's what you get, you knew this was coming. At least they provided a crack, or forum members did, but they supported it.

Sky3ds is very proud of being able to run on latest fw... WITHOUT REGION FREE . Meanwhile , gateway doesnt have access to eshop but has BIGBLUEMENU to install all patches. Until nintendo releases a patch while gw doesn't have access to latest emunand , no damage will be done

It makes you wonder if these new accounts are actually new accounts or just people who were paid to make new accounts and use their english to speak better english than the Sky3DS team.

Nevertheless, is good. Must buy.

  1. works on the new 9.4XXX FW
  2. Unlimited
  3. Plug and play
  4. OUT NOW.
What else do we need?

i need Gateway because i have a JAP New 3ds console & i don't fancy playing JAP games on it because SKY3DS doesn't support Region Free & never will.

Money to buy it? xD
What people more complain about sky is not being region free, I wonder if they will get a way to patch region like they did for wii long time ago :v
For me, I will pick GW for now .. same problem, needs money and wait update =A=

It will work, that kernel access just has to be coded right to contain any leaks into the exploit like the dev of ninjahax has done. Makes for lengthy releases in an impatient scene and with sky unlimied, they really need to open up of fasten up. I for one would always go for the wide open solution or as open as we can with whats available, your average user wants games release tomorrow today, Thats life. If gateway falls to much i'll be devastated as those devs are working hard but consumers at the end of the day drive the market and at this very stage sky is king. A piece of shit king, but king non the less.
Like Joffrey Baratheon? Yeah, piece of sh*t king right there.
