I hate to argue with you, but I hate this logic. Probable doesn't mean definite. Just because group A finds an exploit doesn't mean that all subsequent groups are using the same exploit, even though it is likely.

This sort of logic results in people saying "SKY3DS is compatible with all firmwares, therefore if any other team achieves fimware x.xx compatibility they must be stealing SKY3DS code". Which is exactly what some people said.

None of us know what exploit Gateway was using. Remember, it's fun to theorize, but keep in mind that the vast, vast, vast majority of us (including myself) have absolutely no idea about hacking anything. Logic and deduction doesn't work when you have absolutely no knowledge of the topic.

Anyways, you're right about that! It's just how I'm perceiving things. My logic could be as faulty as anything due to.. Well.. As you said: have absolutely no idea about hacking anything.

In all honesty, this is how anyone learns, by interacting with others and learning to accept other POV's / arguments. It's why I'm here in the first place posting to all of you.

That does not prove anything but my guess is that the two work in a very similar manner so future support for lower firmware is possible. Heck, maybe even all the way up to 9.2. If this turns out to be true GW is gonna skyrocket.

The wording of gateway is quite confusing.

So far it seems its beiing interpereted as:

Adding support for firmware lower then 9.0 to get gateway working on > NOT LIKELY, they wouldve came out with this sooner.
Updating gateway's card on lower firmware. > Might be true but the wording seems a bit odd edit* also how would this help people update to 9.0-9.2 from lower firmware, if using wifi forces 9.3 , which as of this moment is NOT supported.
using gateway to update SysNand to 9.0 from FW lower then 9.0 through a card update ( is how i read their statement) , and from there you can update gateways card on 9.0

if they pull off option 3 i'd be impressed

Precious plans? What precious plans? How were they ruined? They successfully took advantage of a brief window in which the 3DS was exploitable. From what they've said, they have complete support for every firmware below 9.3.0. That is an incredible success.

I agree, learning is done through discussion and sharing of ideas, but the problem is that nobody here knows what they're talking about, at all. It's just a contest of people spewing out as much misinformation as possible.

Hmmm some pieces are coming together now...If their exploit works in a similar manner in which Ninjahax does, thats how GW the card update is done to work past 4.5.
Again, if im correct theoretically every firmware version til 9.2 is exploitable in a way, though Im very sceptical that theyll pull that off.

Emunand should not be a problem if you have it properly backed up. and the site warns on updating SysNand.
Either way hearing them say they are going through with 9.0-9.2 support before they are going to tackle the new 9.3 issues is music to my ears.
now all i need is a gateway card
