I've looked for a solution myself but couldn't really find anything so I'll ask here. My Pro 2 began disconnecting from my switch after a few seconds - a few minutes of gameplay. I have genuinely no idea what could be causing the problem. It is on the latest firmware (3.0.2) and I use an unmodified switch on the latest firmware. Haven't used the controller with my phone or pc much so I'm not sure if the issue is exclusive to my switch. The lights on the bottom will turn solid, turn off, and then go into the switch pairing thing where it blinks across the 4, before reconnecting. Is there anything I could do or should I just buy a new controller?

You need to test it with another device(s) if possible, so you'd be isolating the device causing the issue instead of keep trying to guess it.

I assume you charged it up?

thanks, I’ll try playing around with it tomorrow and see what happens

Yes, my switch reports it fully charged and it still disconnects both wired and wireless

Have you tried with just some AA batteries? Or wired but without any batteries? Perhaps the rechargeable battery is faulty. Seems weird that it disconnects even when wired, but if there is a problem with the rechargeable battery, it could still affect that depending on how the power delivery is handled.

I'd say do as CMDreamer recommended first though and only try out my suggestion if it has issues staying connected with other devices as well.

My 8bitdo SN30 pro does a pretty bad job at holding a charge, and what you're describing sounds like it's just dying. For some reason when mine dies I can turn it back on and get 1-3 more minutes of use

So I tried this last night, and it still did it with the battery pack out and wired.

But when I put the battery back in and connected it wirelessly, it worked perfectly for a couple hours? So I guess it’s fixed for now lol.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Mine has an issue where if you put too much pressure on the back/center of it, it disconnects. Sounds like that wasn't your issue though

Try updating the firmware of your pro 2 https://support.8bitdo.com/firmware-updater.html
