You may have noticed from the screens, that 8BitDo have decided to add 2 d-pads instead of any analogue sticks, to keep the controllers as portable as possible.

The 8BitDo Lite releases October 30th and will cost around $25.

I hope they didn't ask the factory to make a ton of these - this is gonna be a flop for sure

Who let the interns design a new controller?

Makes zero sense to me either, but the yellow is already sold out.

That said these are x-input controllers, and they would be great ultra-portable companions to a laptop or tablet.

Get the Switch lite, remove the screen and for some unknown reason remove the analog sticks as well.
*'BAAAM'* controller everyone will talk about and probable also never buy.

I wonder if the lack of analog sticks has anything to do with patents? I personally haven't seen any controllers that use PSP/3DS-style sliding analog sticks.

I'm on board with a retro controller with no analog sticks for use in SNES emulation or retro-style games. But dual d-pads? Wtf is that?

They could have used at least circle pads like the 3ds

I don't get it. Doesn't it not even have a kick stand?
The Hori compact play stand works. I use it when I’m in my house

I have an 8bitdo sf30 and its d-pad is horrible. Sometime I press left or right and it somehow trigger down button.

I don't get it.
D-pad instead of stick then buttons instead of D-pad. Looks like the worst idea ever to me. Nothing is what devs have programmed games for.
Looks cute though.

Will be easy to use to people used to game with a computer keyboard at least.

Also, what wireless controllers are compatible with the Switch Lite?

And why the heck do you want wireless controllers for the Switch Lite?

Well, they do look neat. But the lack of analogue input seems pretty limiting to me. I wouldn't spend money on a controller that can't be used for many games and go through the trouble of fitting it into my bag in addition to the Switch Lite console.

Maybe I just don't play enough retro games, idk.

Last edited by Reynardine,
sell them with circle pads and I might've looked into it.

but actually, even then, the zr and zl buttons are an absolute nope for me
