8BitDo announce the SN30 Pro+, a customisable Switch controller

8BitDo have made quite a name for themselves with their Switch controllers and accessories as of late, and the latest offering is just around the corner. The new SN30 Pro+ is compatible with Windows, Android, macOS, Raspberry Pi, and perhaps most interestingly, the Nintendo Switch. This is no regular controller, however, as it has a number of unique customisable features, including button remapping, trigger sensitivity, and even custom macros, to be controlled by their new '8BitDo Ultimate Software'. It releases on August 7th, for a retail price of $49.99.

Very much thinking of getting this if the D-pad is up to spec. Just had my 4th (!) pair of Joy-cons start drifting even though I take immaculate care of them, and the Switch Pro Controller has an awful d-pad even on the revised model.

I can say from experience that both of my 8BitDo controllers have excellent D-Pads.

Which ones do you have? I basically just want a controller that has all of the buttons and functionality of the Pro controller, but isn't the Pro controller. I have a DS4 adapter but it has a tiny bit of input lag that makes rhythm games a pain.

Uh I think they're called the 'N30Pro' and the 'SN30Pro'. The N30Pro has awful analogue sticks, so I'd stay away from that, but the SN30Pro has nice analogue sticks, as well as stuff like motion controls, so I'd recommend that one.

Awesome, thank you.

For what it's worth, if all you're wanting is a D Pad (eg for Mario Maker) the Hori Pokken Controller is a real standout choice, and an incredibly cheap one to boot.

I thought about it, but the fact that it's wired and also doesn't have analogue sticks (if I want to use it for another game) keeps me away. I'll reconsider now that you brought it up, though.

Yeah it only does the job for a few games, but it does it really well for the price

This is their very first controller with analog shoulder buttons, I'm actually so excited that they're releasing this at last, I've been waiting for almost a year for this one, with all features they present I do understand why it got delayed for so Long.

Oh, JFC... I just bought another sn30 pro because these guys were super inconsistent on this product. It was announced some time ago and they never could give any solid info on it. They sure did love pushing the MD controllers in my face though.

I have the sf30 pro. No problems at all. Not sure if worth it to me to upgrade to one of their newer controllers. I don’t see the need for motion control
