Hacking 6.xx PRO CFW Release Thread

i wounder if i can upload the newer popsloader to filetrip premade ?

yeah, I'm getting a game could not be started 80010002 error on anything I try to start with popsloader, using 6.39 nightly with Build_468d96056cac.7z popsloader. Even choosing the option to use the original FW pops gives an error. hm.

edit: I updated my CFW with the bundled 6.39 + pops release from pspking and now its working, guess maybe the Nightly I had grabbed wasn't quite updated yet or something

double edit: what psx to psp app do you guys recommend at this point? I haven't really used a new one in awhile

CDDA Popstation would be the best. Followed by PSX2PSP.

@ ars: I did that already; if you check the last page. You can't because it contains copyrighted files, that's why I took mine down.

Yeah... my summer job ranks higher than PRO... sad but true. I hope I can get that one done fast...

On the bright side however, my companion VF does a great job to maintain the code in my absence!

I was waiting for this before I install pops

one question,
is this accurate?

PSP GO:
Every POPS from 3.02 to 3.52 WORKS but NO SOUND!
Every POPS from 3.71 to 6.00 DOESN'T WORK
Every POPS from 6.20 to actual POPS WORKS

What's the source? Because everyone had always claimed you couldn't use pops versions below the lowest firmware your hardware was capable of running. Therefore that quote is wrong by that logic.

I tried it and 3.71 does not work, but I just wanted to make sure it's not something I'm doing wrong
If I can't use it I'll just delete it and keep the ones I can use

Seems to be accurate then, aside from the No Sound bit for the earliest pops. A later post claims it's related to the impose.prx

People are reporting bricks and bugs with PRO-B8. It MAY be wise to wait if these people are for real. I am gonna check Wololo and see if these reports are true. The LAST thing I need is a bricked Go. AGAIN.

EDIT: No reports of brickage from Wololo. These may just be sucky noobs/trolls.

from what I've read on wololo.net it was mostly the 6.39, it was taken down for a few minutes and now it's back

yeah im gonna ask it here instead of starting a new thread since it has relevance here. how can i get from CFW 6.20 pro-b6 to ofw 6.20 quickly.

also is there a way to get to cfw 6.20 pro-b8 without going to OFW i don't think there is but whats the harm in askin

I BELIEVE you can dual boot OFW somehow...

but I am sure you wanna take it away completely; just run the PRO-BX installer and it'll ask you to uninstall, then run the new PRO CFW.

Done.

All you have to do it uninstall B6. You should be able to use the B8 update file to uninstall and than install B8, it's a simple process.

Yeah, I have been just runnin the new update from old PRO firmwares and never had issues. SOME users have reported issues, though, so you know... just to be safe.

Last time I was in a hurry and forgot to uninstall B6, I just ran B7 and it worked.

I still suggest you uninstall fist, better to be safe.
