I hope TX will work on the issue where a fuse check is done when the system wakes up. If they could fix that, I'd keep my emuNAND on 6.1, and my sysNAND on ^6.2.

I’ll be impressed if Nintendo have actually done some security right for once.

It was practically a running gag, surprised they didn’t make this new “stability” 7.0.

Will be interesting to see a write up on the new system.
Switch is the most secure console from them yet (if you don't count the nvidia flaw)

Can you even make a NAND backup on 6.2.0?
Of course. 6.2 doesn't affect the RCM exploit (which is the only thing needed for doing a backup), it just guarantees that CFW cannot be used.

Great news. So, now they can lift superbans, right? I mean whoever updates will have to leave homebrew and backups behind (for now), or did I get that wrong?

Still counts IMO since they approved of it and likely had access to NDA’d stuff.

Iirc ios on the Wii was made by a third party and we all know how that went.

Having an Emunand, or a sysnand stuck to a lower fw lets you run homebrews and backups.

Everything he does is legal. Also, he is a lawyer.

I've no idea if he is a lawyer, but as for legal then it depends on what country he lives in. If it's eu, us or australia then probably not everything he does is legal.

So wait. If it gets cracked. We can just update via ChoirDujourNX, get unbanned and revert back to the previous firmware?

If you update to 6.2.0 you are unbanned? This is confirmed? I want to do this if it's true.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
