Hacking 5.5.0 progress

MyNintendo is around the corner and thus a new update, I'm really thinking about forgeting Homebrew on Wii U althogeter, I couldn't pass the bonus, promotions, and cloud saves. The only thing I wanted was cheat codes, but if Nintendo allows save sharing there's not much to me in the Homebrew side.

I do hope it comes before march as it was previously stated, but i'm not much hyped as before anymore, just chilling and playing on my 5.5.1U and waiting, someday we'll have it.

Stop spreading this myth. It's a endless troll announced to be coming out every other month only to be delayed then when you ask, "what happened" the response is "You dirty low life cheap pirate no one owes you anything how dare you ask about what I announced I was releasing, you're harassing me so I am not releasing it".

Anyone claiming to be putting out anything for 5.5 is probably a nintendo employee trying to spur sales. The last announced release for 5.5 was Xmas.

The cake and the exploit is a lie, if you want a cracked system do not anticipate anything you're going to have to go to a re-seller on ebay.

the MyNintendo stuff is exciting im not worring about homebrew now.. there are so many ways to play emulators, mediaplayers etc and i have no interest in piracy as i have all the good wiiu games disk or dowwnload.. what im excited for is the Nintendo NX

I do not have the time to dig into the exploit-hunting, but after a small time of googling I got the feeling that the Wii at least were compiled with glibc, so maybe you can use it through the WiiU's Wii-compability mode. Might at least be worth a shot (maybe you can break out of the Wii-jail with this exploit, and be able to run code to access the WiiU).

I got the python PoC running and am able to get an initial UDP connection but no TCP connection yet to return the packets. Not even sure the outbound UDP response is being sent though.

Apache wasn't required. Just the python script.

The Wii U doesn't use glibc, so the vulnerability can't exist there, unfortunately.

Even if it does, it wouldn't help. The vWii is already entirely compromised through existing methods, and any vulnerability like this would be irrelevant to escaping its sandbox.

I own quite a few Wii U games. I decided I should probably prepare for when IOSU and/or a kernel exploit goes public and start grabbing the titles I want. The only one I really grabbed was Bayonetta 2 and even that was like "meh I guess so..."

In other words, there aren't that many games on the Wii U that are worthwhile and if there are, even a cheap ass like me has purchased them.

I really do want kernel on 5.5.1, but I guess its not a big deal and I know get why the Wii U scene is the way it is.

It's different from country to another

Here for example the Wii U games is very rare and cost like 60$ to 70$ and they never get cheap by the time and you can't easily find a pre-owned games too, and the new games take ages to be available

But still it's not a reason to do piracy , you can buy a digital copy , but if you did it's definitely worth it so you can have the new games mostly in the first week and for free ( I wish I could support the developer but they seemed to not really care about our market ) not like Sony as they do very good support here like : translation etc
