No, probably not.

If someone decides to release it it's MarioNumber1, MrRean just ported the Kernel Exploit that only some people have (I think)
It would be a disrespectful thing to do, release work of others without asking them. Like when he ported Loadiine to 5.5.0, he decided that if someone releases it on 5.5.0 it's going to be their original developers.

How did the devs manage to find the addresses for the updated software in 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 so quickly? (such as the 5.5 web browser and OSv11 for 5.5?)
is it just reverse-engineering skills all over again?

No. 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 = still 5.5. Only 5.5.0 sucks more, because you can't play online, but exploit the IOSU. With 5.5.1, you can play online and exploit the IOSU.

I still run 5.5.0 and I can play online. I was playing smash online yesterday. I have tubehax on and standby off. I cannot get updated. I haven't tested xcx. Might test today after my school activities.

I have updated yesterday from 5.5.0 to 5.5.1because all the same and i can play online and update all my games to latest version.Hello World 5.5.0 still work on my 5.5.1.Next time anyone want Release any exploit, its better to not make to much publicity.release and good.

I can't play Mario Kart 8 online with 5.5.0.

I'm still on 5.5.0 and can play Mario Kart 8 just fine online. I've using TubeHax DNS and URL blocked on my router. Most likely overkill having both.

That's the only game I have that goes online. Granted, I can't enter the eShop, but I've only ever used it to get the free game that came with MK8.

You can play games online as long as the game is the newest version. Your firmware version can be any.

Fair enough, I've been away from the site for over a year, and haven't turned the Wii U on much in that time either. I've just read all of this thread, and I've decided to upgrade to 5.5.1 anyways. Sadly the real thread of interest is full of rubbish, so it's hard to understand what should and shouldn't be done - "As yet".

I just hope another update doesn't happen while I do. Sadly it did when I last updated!
