No. It's been said a million times already. There is no such thing in the update. Can we please move on from this rumour?
It's not rumour. Nintendo did it with 3DS. Yellows8 only confirmed there is no snag within borwser part. I am nit sure whether that's all that was updated. If there is something else got updated then i need confirmed on that's safe too. Ask those who bought $60+ Cubic Ninja to get homebrew for 3DS just couple months ago and you understand how serious shit Nintendo hidden update can cause.

Of course. But crediar and Yellows8 themselves confirmed that 5.5.1 was entirely patching WebKit entrypoints. Nothing else than that.

There is no reason to update. Shut the fuck up, be patient and go without online and eshop access until the exploit is released. Who cares if Hykem showed it off with 5.5.1 You are still taking a chance that is unnecessary

Are the words of crediar not enough for you? Some people, myself included, want to play online, too. I'm not enduring damage because of more (and at this point, useless) userland exploits. You never know when Hykem will release, he himself only estimates. The only chance you're taking is the chance of him not releasing, which also is very unlikely, as is that ridiculous harakiri time machine Nintendo supposedly put in.

I'm staying at 5.5 as can always manually upgrade via disk later or a tool maybe made like 3ds scene. I decided to update when I was at 5.3.2 and regret it.. so for me wiiu MAC address is blocked until something comes out. But if NX out before exploit I'll sell wiiu and upgrade.

Some people on this forum are just plain stupid . I am 100% sure Nintendo didn't put any shit in the browser, just listen to the people that know what they are talking about (Marionumber1, crediar, Hykem).

You act like you know everything. If YOU want online, sure. But don't tell people to fucking update. There is no fucking reason to. Safe than sorry. And for someone who says "You new know when Hykem will release" you sure were quick to tell that guy it's mid-febuary. You're not helpful in the slightest

Alright I think I ended up getting that DNS blocker stuff working. Hope this thing gets released soon. Waiting for days is pissing me off. I should just release the exploit myself..

updating to 5.5.1 is 100% fine, I managed to port the kernel exploit, cafiine, TCP, and everything flawlessly without changing a single address.

CafeOS was not touched in this update, so it will work 100% fine on 5.5.1. However, I think there might be some issues with ROP since that was a slight problem with kexploit, but I still hardly doubt there will be issues from that.

But if people want to be safe, then fine. However, I still don't see a reason to be so rude about it...

Are you a developer? So you saying you have access to kexploit and you can say it's 100% SAFE for End Users to update?

If you're on 5.5.0, there is no reason to stay on 5.5.0. Just update if you're on that version.

But if you're on 5.4.0, I'd stick around that version for a while.

I understand the 5.5.1 and 5.5.0 is identical. Only minor changes.

Just want to hear more from developers.

Are you a developer? Any news on EMUNAND development?

In a small way I am a dev, I guess. I've had access to everything since 5.3.2 sooo..

Any chance of a release?
