So homebrew only ever worked once for me on 5.5.0. @Voxel Studios helped me a lot and still nothing worked. I read this morning @crediar advising to update to 5.5.1 as its no different, so I thought why not: and bingo homebrew now works everytime using @josamilu 's site.

Many thanks to all!

Any source for that? Not that I don't believe you, but trying to search for Crediar's posts is a bit troublesome, given that all his profiles are locked.

Im sure this morning they weren't locked. It was in a thread where it was stated that 5.5.1 only had 1 change made in firmware and you might as well update.

I cannot find the posts but it was about 9am GMT that I read this and thought @crediar s approval is good enough for me.

Any way: it works WAY better than on 5.5.0 for me and The iosu exploit will work on 5.5.1 too..... Whenever it gets released.

I WOULDNT trust Crediar that much, after all he is from Japan. which means he may work for hentendo.

This is a joke, right?

Anyways, so it's safe to update to 5.5.1 (if on 5.5.0)? Had my Wii U locked into TubeHax DNS since knowing about the possibility of homebrew and game loading, though a little late to the party.

Same question, I'm on vacations until March and if I can play Splatoon Online and Update/Buy some more games on the eShop that would be great.
I'm still on 5.5.0 because I don't want to risk it, I tought that maybe Nintendo put some way to lock the Browser like the 3DS has on 5.5.1 or maybe they add a new URL that the TubeHax DNS doesn't have so when an Update arrives I will have 5.5.2/5.6.0 or whatever, but that it's not the case, right?

If you're on 5.5.0, disable Tubehax, update to 5.5.1, stop the rumours about some ridiculous harakiri bomb, turn Tubehax back on again, and prosper. Userland + IOSU exploits are both compatible with 5.5.1, so everyone who hasn't heard this yet, feel free to quote this and please stop asking.

Thanks, are you absolutely sure, right?
I'm way too scared lol

RPC example does the same for me.
About the Problem with Connect() another user said me that he had the same Problem. I didn't test it yet with calling something before Connect(). I will try it later or the weekend.
Thanks, let me know if you find something.
I tried again today. The connect() function works fine. Then, when recv() is called it freezes the console. Now if I run send() instead of recv() the function returns "512", which in my case is the length I setted for the message (int status = send(rpc, buffer, 512, 0) = 512) !? No freeze with recv() though but whenever another socket function is called, it always returns -1.
I'm done with this since I have no clue of what's going on.

PS : I also tried to launch the RPC function in a new thread (OSCreateThread). Didn't work either.

I say THANK GOD the exploit will work on 5.5.1, I just updated today because I wanted a game and got a lil' worried the exploit wouldn't work on my console...

I wouldn't update either just to be safe. You think it's all okay until a 5.5 iosu comes out and isn't compatible with 5.5.1

Uhhhhhggggg, I can guarantee you guys the exploit is 5.5.1 compatible. When looking through 5.5.1, nothing changed between them except a browser update which clearly had nothing to do with the exploit. As long as the browser will run code through the .mp4 file, we can use kernel/iosu advantages to read and write the nand, so we can run our own exploits and do whatever we want to the Wii U. So stop telling people not to update, because they are wasting their time not being able to play online. Anyways, Hykems tweet shows the exploit running on fw 5.5.1.

Are you sure there is no hidden update snag code from Nintendo at all for 5.5.1? I saw yellow8 no hidden code in browser update, but is there something else got updated? Really skeptical due to Nintendo previous action with the 3DS via these minor update
