I currently have a psp 1000 running 5.00 m33

I would like to play some of the newer games such as Motorstorm and GT

Is 5.50 GEN A what I need? or is there a better option?

I do not have access to a pandora (I borrowed a friends and he moved away) do I need one?

Thnxs

Max,

Follow the steps and be up and running soon. Remember that the new games, need to be patched, so if the games don't say patched somewhere in the download, or if you buy games, you'll need to use the game decrypter v2 that is on psp-hacks also.

The steps.

Visit psp-hacks

Download 5.50GENA
Download 5.50 OFW firmware and place it in ur root named 5.50 just like u did with 5.00
Run 5.50GENA
Download 5.50GenB and run it
Download 5.50GenB-2 and run it

You don't need the pandora if you already have CFW. And just install it from the memory stick option in the games menu. Be sure to do it in order from GEN A to GEN B, and then GEN B2.

what exactly does the 5.50 improve anyway?

access to PSN, 5.55, 6.00 games are now playable.
Don't listen to people when they say M33 IS DA BEST GEN = POOSTAINS.
They simply can't get over Dark Alex and move on.
Its worth going to GEN to play 5.55 + 6.00 games

why do people insist on saying this ?

with xgen updater i went straight from 5.00m33-6 to 5.50 GEN B2 on 3 different psp's

okay so I have updated the 5.00 m33 to the 5.50 GEN B2.

Popcorn Fairy I used your method so it seems to be okay so far

We will try a patched version of Motorstorm shortly

The access to the PSN I can download demos and the such now?

Even though you can do this on M33.....

Some games wont work on M33, even patched. GT is one example.

An additional patcher was posted in these forums recently, fixing the very few compatibility issues left. I have Persona running on my 5.00 M33-6 perfectly, it just took a few more steps.
(PS: This is why people should learn to be patient
