Hi!
Is the default configuration file inbedded within the nro file of the SNES emulator or does it look for it in a default folder created?
If it's in the default folder why not change the config file within the emulator, save it and rename it with the default name and replace that one?

Hello everyone, here is a TEMPORARY SOLUTION FOR BACKING UP AND LOADING SAVE STATES WITH THE SNES RETROARCH EMULATOR

In this video I do go through the SNES RetroArch Emulators or virtual console as some would refer to it. Along with backing up and loading save states.

YouTube Video:

5.X.X/5.0.2

Be sure to watch MOST OF THE VIDEO as I do go over some control settings that I do have enabled for the emulator. Makes playing some of these retro emulators a little easier to set up.

YOU MUST PLACE THE SNES CONFIGURATIONS FOLDER ON THE ROOT OF YOU MICRO SD CARD WITH THE CONFIG.CFG FILE INSIDE.

YOU MUST PLACE THE 1 retroarch_SNES folder in the switch folder on your micro sd card WITH THE .NRO FILE STILL INSIDE THAT FOLDER.

YOU MUST LOAD THE SNES CONFIGURATIONS FOLDER/CONFIG.CFG FILE EVERY TIME YOU LAUNCH RETROARCH EMULATOR/VIRTUAL CONSOLE

WAIT 5 TO 10 SECONDS AFTER SAVING STATE.

WAIT 10 TO 20 SCONDS WHEN LOADING SAVE STATE

EXIT RETROARCH USING EXIT OPTION IN THE MENUE.

BE PATIENT!!

1 retroarch_SNES folder with .nro file and configuration file; DOWNLOAD LINK BELOW:

Appreciate all the hard work done by developers and the teams at work making these GREAT emulators/virtual consoles and apps possible.

Have fun and all the best.

This was an old workaround.

Things are working better in relation to config file loading and saving

What do you mean?
Changing configuration within the emulator works after restart?

If you have a config file in the same folder as the .nro

Retroarch.cfg

Load the configuration file manually in the emulator.

Make changes and then save them.

That file will load as default if named retroarch.cfg

If you do not have a default config just save as new and rename it as retroarch.cfg

And so on.

Oh that's what I meant a while back.
Although to rename it you'll need a phone or a PC. So there's that;)

Does this one keep a save file when you tell the game to save, or do you have to go into emulator menu and use save state?
