Last edited by DreIceAge,
nintendo has the most couch co op games over the others. i've played more games with friends face to face on wii u over xbone + ps4. though it does seem 4 person local multiplayer could be dying. games that could have it, just don't have it. i hope not though, the most fun i had in multiplayer games is with friends face to face and not everyone wants to buy an extra console for that shit.

You only doing retail and not AcA or VC?
If you include all games on eshop then:

Metal Slug.
Metal Slug 3.
Shock Troopers.

Maybe another couple of AcA games but those are all I can confirm.

My bad, for some reason I read co-op games and not 4 player multiplayer lol, must be going mad in my old age :P

Rebirth? Isaac on switch is afterbirth+

ARMS will require two sets of joycons for 2 players vs.
You can play it with only one joycon, the devs said that (i'll edit this post with the sauce later)

they're "multiplayer" (lit. 2 Player). but no. not 4 player.

Source: I bought all the AcA games and tried.
oh ok that's what this threads about. Finding out which games are 4 player therefore justifying buying an extra set of joycons.

I only bought KOF 98. Those other ACA games look interesting.

What about Overcooked?
yeah this counts.

Overcooked hews most closely to Mario Party, a game that seems charming and fun-filled on the surface — only to reveal its true intentions early on. Much like Mario Party, Overcooked takes close friendships way up to the edge, threatening to push them off with every dropped dish or ruined burger. As a four-player kitchen frenzy, friends collaborate to make meals that become more complex under increasingly frantic conditions. It's stressful, it's infuriating, and it's amazingly fun. Overcookedprovided some of our most memorable moments in 2016, as well as fueled some of our loudest screaming matches.

which reminds me, Ultimate Chicken Horse is 4 player and also coming to Switch

Clever Endeavour Games

Ultimate Chicken Horse hit Steam earlier this year, and it's since become beloved by PC gamers and fans in the indie community. Playing the game with three other people, it's easy to see why: It's fast-paced, totally weird and strangely cute. Everyone plays as one of several types of animals, each of whom is armed with a trap that they place on a platforming level before the clock sets off. Once it does, it's all about being the last player — or animal, as it were — alive, avoiding the sneaky death traps while hoping to coerce your buds into landing in yours. Reaching the end of the level earns you the title of victor, but it also gets you on your friends' shitlist. That's the mark of a truly winning multiplayer game.

I can really recommend Shock Troopers, what a gem, check out some reviews online but basically it is a shooter version of streets of rage or final fight with 8 characters and 3 different routes through the game. Go into options and select lives=8/No continues and you get the whole crew to try and get through the game with, adds a real incentive to swap in and out characters to keep them alive and feels like a classic sega/Nintendo era setup with a decent challenge.

Metal Slug 3 also great, try 99 lives/No continues to see if you can get to the end. I've got to the end boss but not been able to complete it yet, it also has lots of alternative routes through levels.

Both look brilliant on the handheld screen, offer lots or replayability and provided you setup lives/No continues feel like proper games compared to Arcade coin munchies. I'm loving these options for the neo geo games, really let you set them to be challenging console games as opposed to coin continue arcade games.

So hyped for samurai showdown iv next week.
