3DShell (pronounced 3D-Shell) - is a multi-purpose file manager for the Nintendo 3DS that aims towards handling media files. Unlike FBI which specializes more in title management, 3DShell leans towards more of the file management features such as opening and managing various files types and includes the basic necessity of a standard file manager. This program's design elements are clearly inspired by CyanogenMod/LineageOS's built in file manager, and so all credits towards the design go to the CyanogenMod/LineageOS contributors.

Good job kinda looks like an Android file browser. The gear button doesn't work and can you have it order by alphabetical but overall well down

It is inspired by an android file manager. And yeah some functions are yet to be implemented like settings so there's still quite a lot to do here.

Thanks for this. It's always nice to see contributions to the Homebrew Scene. Also, the per-button system used by GodMode9 and CTRXplorer is admittedly clunky; this should make file management much smoother.

Appreciate the friendly comments. Next release won't be up until I fix recursive deletion (fixed), and the copy/cut stuff.
Also the gear button (settings) and the key button (ctrnand) doesn't work yet, so tapping on it won't do anything. Thought I'd mention that since I didn't in the main post. Do feel free to make suggestions or request features as long as they're appropriate and isn't something like "can we get this to run ps vita gamez".

Oh and also here's a QR code to make installation easier: (I'm planning on adding QR downloads in the future as well)

@Joel16
Just asking.
Is the FTP feature still up?
I'm asking because I don't see it in the todo and I got excited for that feature.

I did give it a go a few days ago but didn't go so well, so I'll be looking into that later. It's a planned feature, I just forgot to mention it.

@Xdqwerty, That's because they werent designed for gaming, these are rehashed Android TV devices with a replacement firmware.

@SylverReZ I just bought 3 of those RS36S to give away for xmas. They are cool, but struggle to play n64 games. Good for price.

@SylverReZ, Wait iirc My sup m3 stopped working due to some battery issue, it's similar to a phone battery so it might be easy to replace, and i'm sure miyoo cfw supports reformatted micro sd cards

@BigOnYa, For what it's worth, you can't complain.

@SylverReZ, lemme see if I can find it and take a picture
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I tried to find the screen to replace it myself, and its more than buying a whole new unit, so not worth trying. But I have extra one for parts/ battery atleast.

would the wd_black sn770 be a good boot drive
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@kijetesantakalu042 Well yea if your laptop/pc takes Nvme Gen4 Ssd.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BigOnYa, The RS36S what I like about it, is that it's easily serviceable, not too difficult to replace the battery or the sticks.

@BigOnYa I wouldn't be looking at nvme drives if it didn't

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea I took the broken screen one apart to get numbers off back of screen, it was easy to take apart/ work on.
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
The reason I was asking was because people said it'd be a bad boot drive because it doesn't have dram
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@kijetesantakalu042 I'm not sure bout that then tbh.
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
Looks like it should be fine
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
It'll be better than the shitty 512gb drive my laptop has rn
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@kijetesantakalu042 Actually there is a couple reviews for that one, people saying not to use for boot drive.
  • kijetesantakalu042 @ kijetesantakalu042:
The stuff I see on reddit generally says it works well as a boot drive

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@AncientBoi You look up the specs of your laptop and see what type of Ssd it uses.
