I bet that that is the DS screen, not the 3DS one.

They are both 3DS screens.

Made the mistake of posting before reading everyones post and just noticed this.

Did you troll us spinal_cord and all 4 images are 3DS? lol
The two pairs are the same. I don't know what he did to the first one.

And they are both 3DS screens, likely with different versions of the firmware. Or maybe not and this is just a social experiment.

Yeah i replied to this topic assuming it was a screenshot of the DSlite mario 64 and mario 64 on the 3DS and not before or after the update. I realised that now and edit'd my original post because of it lol

All those visible lines make me despise both, but I have to go with the top. The darker look helps to disguise the abundance of visible lines when played on the 3DS. Honestly, that's all I really care about. :3

I guess I can tell you guys which is which, currently around 60% of people say that the top photo is better quality. So, here it is -

Both photos are of the SAME 3DS, they were in fact taken within one second of each other. this to me proves that all of the other 'proof' about the newer firmware looking better on DS games is not in any way reliable and can not be used as any sort of evidence that Nintendo have updated anything in regards to the display functions of DS games.

I liked the bottom screen. There is jack shit difference. No difference. The fact that two pictures are slightly different, LCD angles don't matter.

-sorry for weirdly worded post. bit tired.

Very nice!! This is a great way to show how what people know can change there perception of what they see.

Just as I suspected. I hope this ends all the speculation about this.

lol

how can u guys really think to make a comparison like this?
two blurry screens, captured in dark, with a normal cam?
making pictures of LCD screens is useless for quality checks, you need to get the source of the video-signal, other things are a joke.

@nintendoom Read the spoiler in this post.

@KingVamp What this proves is, that you can be fooled easily by pictures taken with a camera and that you can't see if there is a difference if you don't have two 3DS systems with the different firmwares.

The whole point of this thread was to prove exactly that.

Actually, that just puts us back at square one. And square one is debate.

*sigh*

I really don't see any difference.

Edit: Now I know why.
This experiment is flawed in oh so many ways.
