At least they have an app on the PC that can scan the vpk to see if it is safe for vita

Freeshop and ciangel download directly off of nintendos servers. so a bug would have to be planted on nintendos servers to brick if they use those. and nintendo would slam down the legal hammer quicker then the 3ds was first hacked

Luckily for us 3DS users, games containing malicious code seem to be confined to the PS Vita... For now...

There's always a risk, even the DS had malware.
But it's unlikely to happen. That iso site and that chaos site tends to have a pretty fast acting staff. When the fake Pokemon Sun was leaked, they were pretty fast at removing the links to it. If a malware rom were to hit their sites, they wouldn't last very long. And if you are getting your games from Freeshop, there's no risk whatsoever.

theres a video of the DSBricker on a 3DS and all it did was make every DS related function not work and a complete format was needed

well the dstwo+ was running on gateway software which is known to trigger brick code if used with clone carts, AFAIK only 1 or 2 people ever reported getting bricked while using a dstwo+ neither of which AFAIK were "confirmed" by hardmodder's on here so Idk, but I think most owners read about gateways past brick exploits and just opted to not use the 3DS side of things

that said it would still be the same gateway brick code but this time triggered by supercards hubris that they would succeed where the previous clones had failed
