Then whats to prevent an update to the cards after that?TehSkull said:What's to prevent Nintendo from making a new blocker of sorts? Just sayin.Antoligy said:The flashcart "blocking" will be just as easily circumvented it was already - there's no protection over that which exists in the DSi.

No, the DSi only used 1 method to keep carts blocked. It was basically just a blacklist. Nintendo needs a way to actually determine if a cart is/wants to load something besides what the original cart does.Tai Le Ree said:Then whats to prevent an update to the cards after that?TehSkull said:What's to prevent Nintendo from making a new blocker of sorts? If you look at the dsi you'll notice that this will go on for a bit.

I don't support flashcards on the 3DS (well this early that is), even DS-Mode since no one is just going to stop there.Nollog said:Gay little cat: Why?
I like being able to play all my DS games from a flashcart.
No 3DS flashcart is out yet, and I hope it stays that way. Maybe that's what you mean?
If DS mode is unprofitable though, third parties are more likely to start on 3DS development.A Gay Little Catboy said:I don't support flashcards on the 3DS (well this early that is), even DS-Mode since no one is just going to stop there.Nollog said:Gay little cat: Why?

So I don't want to see flashcards on the 3DS, not this early. I want to see the 3DS have chance and see flashcards much later in it's life when it's worth hacking.

True, but as I said some people aren't going to stop there. It's better to hold onto your DS(i) and just let the 3DS run it's course for a few years, then hack it. It's cheaper and easier to do and doesn't look that bad on Nintendo's end, plus there will be games worth getting and more than likely all the updates will be finished.Nollog said:If DS mode is unprofitable though, third parties are more likely to start on 3DS development.A Gay Little Catboy said:I don't support flashcards on the 3DS (well this early that is), even DS-Mode since no one is just going to stop there.Nollog said:Gay little cat: Why?

I have faith Nintendo, but I little faith in people. I want see their system succeed and honestly an early hack of any sort never looks good for any gaming company.Nollog said:You have no faith in Nintendo?
I'm sure they've learned something from the DSi and Wii.
Also, trading in my DSi is cheaper than keeping it, or do you mean something else?
