Nothing can be required from 6.3 simply because that update brought nothing new. It is spuffable like everything else.

I meant like what if MH4 was broken on purpose, its sold as a broken game but when you download 6.3 it works.

Ofc, it blacklisted save backup for it. This has nothing to do with actual function of the game. You can expect this for a "mainly online" game. They don't want people to share save files.

Well, MH can check if the title is present. But it probably can be spoofed too.

Assuming i read this correctly both these cards tested were running 6.2.0-12 patch and required no patch for them to work on 6.3?

I think all cards that were running fine on 6.2.0-12 don't have a problem with 6.3.0-12

I tested these cards just a moment ago on new 6.3.0-12 which were running fine on 6.2.0-12:
Supercardstwo
r4isdhc.com dual core 2013 card
pink R4i3d.com card
purple r4itt.net card

Since r4i-gold.com (pro) yellow/gold card is very similar to the 3 cards i noted above i am 90% sure that if yours was working on 6.2.0-12 then it will work on this new 6.3.0-12.

So an update every month seems normal now eh?

Does anybody know if this blocks the initial gateway exploit? I'm not talking about the kernel exploit, I know it doesn't work past 4.5.

Well, MH can check if the title is present. But it probably can be spoofed too.

my guess is that this file's purpose is to allow games to check for its existence to confirm you are really on 6.3 and not 4.5 with spoofing.
i am not sure spoofing will work if the game is checking for this file in RomFS as you would need to spoof a file being there that is not actually there, vs spoofing strings (and other data that already exists in some form). obviously, I do not know how or what they are spoofing so its pure speculation for now.

Depending on how much access they have, Gateway could find a way to Install the title that contains the file, as the title is signed by Nintendo and if newer games are actually going to check this file.
