With the new Gateway update supporting N3DS emunand 10.3, assuming tomorrow when I update that's still the latest, can I just go to system settings with unlinked nand and update "normally", and this is this is the important part, with a *downgraded mset*?

I downgraded the mset before unlinking, so even the emunand mset is downgraded. Can I just update normally (and the exploit would remain on the sysnand, allowing me to continue using it?)

Yes. Just confirm that you're on Gateway mode before updating.

Yes. Reinand/cakesfw and now gateway support 10.3 emunand.

It depends on how old your flashcart is. If it used to work on the 3DS, but was blocked by a firmware update, you can use flashcarttimewarp to make it work again. Flashcarttimewarp can be found on "some iso site." If it never worked on the 3DS, there is no way to make it work on the 3DS.


Try using the Homebrew Launcher to launch EmuNAND9 instead of the browser.


There's not much difference between 9.0 and 9.2. Everything for 9.2 works for 9.0 as well.

If you wanted to update to 9.2, you would need to use SysUpdater and Pasta CFW or rxTools' devmode/pasta mode. Again, there's not much point in doing this since you're on 9.0.

Pasta CFW is a very limited CFW. It does not support emuNAND and does not use firmlaunch to spoof the 3DS's firmware version.

Cake I don't have any experience with. I believe it is a more lightweight CFW which supports emuNAND and firmlaunch.

RxTools is a CFW with a ton of features. It has FBI injection, xorpad dumping, game decryption, options for launching with or without firmlaunch and a few more features. It also supports emuNAND.

RxTools is generally considered the best CFW for the O3DS.

I downgraded my N3DS Eu to 9.2 sucessfully but trying to dump my SysNand to NAND.bin results in failure, how do I fix this? Mind you I've been scouring the internet till 4 am to no avail..

After browsing around it seems like it is possible without any flashcard or game exploits. Correct me if I'm wrong but I would just need to install CFW and put emunand on right?

So just updated my N3ds to 10.3.x anyone got a easy guide to follow to install GateWay correctly with this new update? So much stuff in the download folder and the quick guide is a joke. Last time I installed GW was on O3DS back when it was just MSET Blue Card lol.

So is 9.3.x still the highest it can be for GW on N3ds? If so got a simple guide for that. My Zelda N3DSXL has that firmware.

Cia install the games to the home menu as if it was eshop game. It load better as it installed
Rom need another means to load like gw and quality is a bit lower

About the Xorpads, I was wrong about it, you need it to decrypt (and extract) and rebuilding games in CIA form.

Is it the cfw version of Braindump and HANS? In short? No.

Braindump gives you a different file that you'll need to extract the assets out of. It can't rebuild RomFS which is used for HANS.
