My European Aqua Blue 3DS has a bit of wobbling on it too, when clicked into either of its two positions.

I went back to my DSi and noticed how the hinge is firm and solid in place when clicked. I really wish the 3DS was like this, it better be fixed in general for the "3DS Lite" model.

Just to say this once and for all so no one can bitch at me anymore, N saying "it's supposed to wobble" is no excuse for them not using better material to make sure that the hinges never have a breaking issue.
1) Just because you say it doesn't make it true.

2) Any "better material" will make it cost more.

3) There no break proof material and if you not taking care of your device it your fault.

4) Calm down.

I'm actually quite fearful of a "3DS Lite". Seeing as how 3 of my DS Lites have broken down with the same issue of hinges, while my original DS Phat still lives strong, I don't think I'd really like to see what they'll with this unless better or stronger material is used and not what seems to be cheaper or defected (IMO)....

But maybe that's just me, no?

Dude, you are trolling me. Will you just stfu already. Now to argue your pathetic points.

1) Not only I complain, but everyone else. If I say it sux and the majority says it sux then it is true. And it is certainly true that they could use a better material.

2) No. If you factor in how many 3DS's are being sent to N even as brand new, and how many will be sent to them under warranty because the plastic hinge is broken, N will end up spending way more money on repairs thus the 3DS will stay at full price for a lot longer. And as I already told you once, making a couple hundred thousand small pieces out of a metal alloy verses the crappy plastic will only cost about $0.02 more per 3DS in manufacturing and thus not enough to warrant N raising the price even higher especially when it will be saving them money in the long run.

3) Of course nothing is break proof, but a metal alloy is certainly much stronger than shit plastic. And under the conditions that the 3DS is used, I'm sure a metal alloy would live up for the full life time of any 3DS unless it gets run over by a car or hit with a grenade or forcefully thrown at concrete.

4) STFU. Everything you say is wrong and all you have for arguable points are moot because of how wrong they are. Very few people agree with the way you see it and out of the people that do agree with you, you are the only one that is dumb enough to keep arguing even after you have been proven wrong. You are now going on my block list because you are pissing me off and you won't just STFU. And to prove you wrong even more, I will make my own poll to prove my point so you have no more reason to try to argue with me.

Whats that? I can't see what you said because I put you on my ignore list because every time I make a post about the wobbling screen you are the first person to argue with me and you keep saying illogical things.

My DS Lite's screen didn't wobble at all, it was stiff. It's hinge lasted less than a year.
My DSi's hinge wobbles. It's hinge has lasted about 3 times as long and still works great.

Also, metal is thicker == they would have to make the hinge larger == larger 3DS.

WHAT?!?!? Are you on crack? Really, are you on drugs? Apparently you've never seen a paper clip or a staple before in your life. This is going to be my next favorite quote of the day.

Metal can be as thick as they want it to be. For things like this, and just like the plastic, they can cast it into a mold. No matter what, a metal alloy is much stronger than the plastic that they use even at the same thickness.

Not saying they can mold the metal alloy into this design, but wouldn't that make it heavier?

Plus Nintendo have been using plastic this whole time with the handhelds and people had their ds last a long time. Even the psp is made of plastic.

I do not think we need metal.

Mine wobbles a bit, I think it moves around 5mm. Should I return it for a new one?

Mine wobbles but i gotta shake it. Playing the face game is no issue with it. It holds plenty tight unless I shake it hard.

My DS lite's screen doesn't wobble at all. I've had it for 2 and a half years, and put it through extensive use, and have no sign of a crack, or any other issues with it. People just need to take better care of their things.

I've had the original ds for 6 years, still works 100% and the screen doesn't wobble. Its just a different hinge type, it doesnt. If it aint broke why complain? If you want it to not wobble push the screen up as far as it goes.

Go to first page for my personal 3DS hinge test.

so I got my cosmo black 3DS exchanged at gamestop on thursday, turns out that it was the last one they had in stock.

The new one is an improvement in terms of sturdiness regarding the hinge, and even the 3D slider is sturdier. Over all I'm pleased with it, hopefully nothing defective will pop up in the future.

Please continue to particpate in the poll, as I find that there are inconsistencies in the sturdiness of the 3DS, although it may very well be with in the range of error.

I dropped my 3DS once and now it makes squeeky sounds.
But only if I move my 3DS alot, so I just use it too annoy people whenever I feel like it.
