When I found out about the email reader/responder being sick for 2 weeks on MaxConsole I speculated that this guy was also the same guy that updates the GW website with news... Part of this was in jest to fan the sails of the rumor mill. Pretty soon after garyOPA posted this (I don't know if it was in the same thread).

"Yeah everyone is waiting for updates, and I explained once before the 'sales team' person been sick for just over 2 weeks so that is reason for no updates.

When there is new update and news, it will be posted, until then it is pointless to keep yelling back and forth the same shit.

V2.0 final is coming, the development team is hard at work on it, and news will it is released will be posted asap, but it will NOT be tomorrow or even next week, stay tuned for updates."



Gotta think though, would they really employ the same person to read/reply to emails (a massive chore given our collective bitching to their inbox) as well as updating their site? - And would they really allow someone with such bad attendance to potentially affect their revenue due to sickness?
Someone joked about he/she having SARS, If it was my business this would barely scratch the surface of an acceptable excuse to impact sales!
 
Give they guy a break sound like people are ready to mount his head On a pole, assuming it wasn't bull it's as much gateways fault for not just getting someone else to do the emails or at least updating the site and saying sorry email responder is sick there will be no replies untill he is better
 
I just think it's a little strange that an 'email responder' also handles site updates? The only giveaway is the poor english used in both the email replies and the site updates - Although considering no one in the GW team seems to have english as their native tongue it's still just as implausible.

Since when does some dude on MaxConsole saying something mean it's true? Also, he never mentioned the mail and news guy being the same person.

Also, all English from across the pond is poor English to you Brits. Compared to other flashcard businesses, Gateway should have a PhD by now.

'Some guy from MaxConsole' = GaryOPA - As far as we know he is the nearest authority to news on GW? He doesn't mention email replies but does mention 'updates'.

+ Yeah, even some yanks struggle with the english language from time to time :p
 
tbh i have always found gateways English pretty impressive for a flash card company(to be honest its fairly good just in general no bad goofs that i have seen), but I'm not the kind to jump on people for incorrect spelling or usage etc (except if someone is trying to be a grammar nazi whilst messing up themselves in the very post they are bashing someone for not using punctuation...practice what you preach :P), but as long as they get the message across I'm not too fussed, i don't expect everyone in the world to study English just so they can go on the internet, especially when the rest of their life uses a different language, i'm not perfect at English myself so i wouldn't expect people who don't use it as their native language to be fantastic either

Its hardly uncommon for a company to inflate their perceived size to enforce a stronger image of their brand in the minds of consumers.
I own a Ltd company in the UK and in the bio and services its always described as "we" instead of "I". Yes, its just me working.

You're absolutely correct that there's a possibility of Gateway just being one person. However, probability-wise, it just makes more sense. You either have one person working there, or you have more than one person working there. Since >1 is more likely than =1, I've just gone with that. It's a lot of work to be done by one person, but I guess it would explain delays.

Thinking about it, if the Gateway team was in fact just one person, it would actually explain everything. If the person working on the code is the same person who answers emails and updates the site and he/she has in fact been sick for the past 2 weeks, it explains both the lack of email replies/updates and the extreme delay in releasing the update.
 
Does that mean it was the woman who does the videos all along :O

Jkn but it would kinda explain things if it was just one guy and he gets his wife/sister/mum to make the videos for him :rofl:
 
I havent read here for some weeks - and now I come back and you talk about Mrs. Gateway?
