Indeed. 9 days ago they mentioned beta testers would receive an early copy, but so far none of those beta testers (as far as I've read so far) has received any of the required files. Honestly.. I stopped caring and will just check the gateway site once a week orso. I'm not even going to bother anymore seeing they can't even announce properly when it would be released.

Yeah they said Id be in the beta and that was the last communication i received from them about 10 days ago. I honestly hope MT-card or someone else takes over as the better/supported card. Nothing is worse than getting constantly trolled by them

Meh, I have patience. I'm just sick of all these "it comes soon, etc" excuses.

If they need more time, awesome! I'm all for it. But mention that on the website! Or at least be honest about it.

I'm just getting tired of all these 24 hours, soon, 1 week, early next week they've been mentioning for the past few months now.

Just do what I do, ignore it, come back later and if it updates yay! Christmas has come early! You'll just waste your time constantly checking or listening to every email that says it is coming in X amount of time.

If I had a dollar for every time a company missed their deadline... reminds me of when I worked at a pretty large electronics design company, missed deadlines all the time lol. Hey the patch should be ready by... oh wait it's not.

Instead of revolving your lives waiting for the beta, how about just do normal everyday things, you arent being trolled or lied too, All good things take time, if it was that easy, wouldnt other devs have just added there own additional features, fixed issues with bricking etc and we would have MOD launchers....... Um No, so instead of the sense of entitlement so many users have, how about stop the Gateway Tunnel Vision, focus on real life and learn to wait, The team didnt meet their original targets time wise, but they have still met them.... I'm currently playing other games... The 3DS was meant as an addition to my gaming. not something all consuming.
So, it's not a problem as I have a brand new PC to play with and a working 360... I even have 2 PSP Fat's laying around with so many GB's of games I could never play them all before I die.
So, waiting for Gateway to come out with 2.0 Final is easy. More or less...
Might run into a speed bump when I need to play with my cousin once he get's his 3DS XL for his birthday, but meh.

At this pace, MT-Card is going to support Pokemon before the release of GW2.0. Not that I care about playing Pokemon in a Flashcard, though (thanks Nintendo).

Hey, I'm thinking about buying a 3DS XL. Unfortunately, I cannot justify buying ~2 3DS games every month nor can I justify spending $200 on a device if I am going to play less than ~2 games every month (better spending my money on steam where games are cheaper and I don't have to spend money on a console). So I don't plan on buying a 3DS unless a good flashcart comes out in the near future. So would anyone be kind enough to give me a brief update on the current development of flash carts to save me the work of reading a bunch of threads? From what I have gathered, Gateway is the closest but still has a lot of compromises, but they are claiming (have been for a long time) that they are close to a new working version. Is that right?

Considering my situation? Do you think I should buy a 3DS? I don't mind buying a few games for now to hold off until a working flash cart is released. But that is only if a working version will get released in a reasonable time (few months) and the "working version" is "good". ie Most, if not all games work, online works, not buggy, etc.

Lol, good answer, but seriously, you need to consider that the longer you wait, the harder it is to get a 3DS XL with a firmware 4.1 ~ 4.5.
So at least don't wait too long to buy the hardware.

Why does GW not count as a good flash cart? It offers complete, up to date rom compatibility (minus the 2 roms that have nand saving), plays region locked roms, and even emulates the latest 3DS firmware.

Granted, it's not a "perfect" flash cart because it doesn't offer mult-rom, nand saving, or online compatibility for roms (oh and because it has the bricking code in the latest update), but it's still good for the features it currently has to offer.

OK, i agree on that part, at this point it can go eitherway, but still, if GW decides to stop, and MT too, that will only mean another company is going to pick it up sooner or later. And the exploit will always be valid, IF you got a 3DS with the right firmware...but hey, you make a valid point too..

I think it's up to the person to decide, but the current flash cards play 99% of games, if he is really tight on money get a standard 3ds and a cheap clone card, you will have a hundreds of games to choose from, true the cheapo clones are unlikely to get any future updates, but with all the skeptics with gateway and the legend of 2.0, you may just be paying double for exactly the same compatibility and features, if you feel like taking a gamble and buying gateway in the hopes that they do release the NAND saving and multi-rom,

To sum it up if you have to ask others if you should buy something you would likely be the kind of person to always regret your own decisions so you like to have people to blame
