i like the fact that they say that all cards are also updatable, and not only the launcher

Zelda works. (Saving works too, as expected)

To be clear, I'm talking about the ROM. I gather other people have had success getting a Zelda retail cart to boot via emunand mode though.

Considering it allows for EmuNAND and thus the Nintendo Store, it might be possible to buy Pokemon / Animal Crossing and play it that way. I'll try testing it as I write this. It's currently reading my NAND.

Some might be wondering how fast does it go into the GUI? Instantly.

Once you hold L and press the button it'll boot instantly into the Gateway GUI, no waiting, no black screens no nothing. Simply boots straight into the menu which looked quite cool actually. Extremely nice looking GUI for being the first graphical thing we're seeing homebrew wise.

Noticed that occasionally it will "hang" on pressing "DS Profile" instead of booting into gateway mode. Holding the power button to force it to power off and trying again works.

Same problem here, I also noticed that if you are using emuNAND and open the settings and exit them, the system falls back to the system NAND! That's a good reason to follow the gateway teams advise and only update via the settings/update menu after checking the GW3D label there... :P

If you close the 3DS in the main dashboard and open it again, the system stays black for a second or two. I just tried that on a 4.4 3DS with the default 4GB SD.
I will try tomorrow if my other 3DS consoles with the larger and faster SDs also have this "lag".

I also tried the new Zelda. As others already wrote here, it works :)
I also tried the closing/opening thing while playing. No lag while using emuNand.
BUT! After closing the game with the home button / exit, the 3DS hangs on the "Terminating software..."-screen (or whatever the text is in english...) and all buttons do not work.
The 3DS does not freeze completely, the background on the upper screen still moves and the clock is working.

It is definitly a beta like they tell us, but a nice proof of support :D

I wonder if they updated their 'save hook' for 2.0 beta 1 to make it so you don't have to do the "home" button trick after saving to place the .sav file on the sdcard. Has anyone checked this?

Just tried. Created a new savegame in zelda, poped the gateway out of the 3ds => fallback to system NAND, tried to start GW mode => 3DS freezes on loading.
Rebooted 3DS, started GW mode, started Zelda.

New Savegame gone.

If you just switch from the running game to e.g. the eshop (via the home button), the save is ok!

Interesting, thanks for checking that. Not a dealbreaker to have to do the trick of course. Sucks if you end up forgetting it though ;-)

Not sure if anyone can test this, but perhaps someone knows enough how emunand works to say:
I need/would like to do a system transfer from my old 3ds to my new 3dsXL with 4.4 and was wondering if I could do so with emunand, or if that would possibly be a bad idea.
System tranfer requires latest firmware, hence emunand into the latest, then go to system transfer in options transfer to my emunand 3ds. If this worked safely without ruining something about gateway or your nand firmware would this be safe to do? Since this is a system transfer I assume the transfer would only be available while running emunand, and not normal 3ds nand? If that is the case, then the transfer would be pointless outside of save transfer, since I'd still be giving up having the save/game if I ever chose to go to normal firmware without gateway?

The reason I want to transfer is to get my digital copy of fire emblem awakening, and its corresponding save. I could always just use a rom, but I totally don't feel like replaying the game to unlock hard+.
The reason I ask is I'm selling my 3ds, so I have a limited timeframe to actually perform the transfer. Waiting on my order to arrive.

After some confusion, I started the process over and formatted my sd card. When I follow step 1, it's stuck on >>READING and there is no progress bar. What do I do?
