You never know actually. Development of emulation on new devices take a long time, and is hard.
But the gateway doesn't magically mean there will be a 3DS emulator. We still need way more than that.

The Gateway merely disables security checks. An emulator would have to decrypt ROMS in order to work. That's a big obstacle the Gateway does not need to address.
As everybody said here, it is too early for that, and I'll leave one advice here: If you see a link, a video, a survey, claming to be a 3DS emulator, just ignore it.Does this new gateway mean it may be possible to get a 3DS emulator working on the pc?
