Hey everyone!

I am trying to download some media (some videos I own) and I cannot find a good way to transfer files to my 2ds. Is there a Homebrew app that lets you download files to your SD card from a QR code. Kinda like FBI remote install, but for files.

FTP is of course an option, but QR works better for me.

I don't think that's possible for other type of files, other than (cias) games for the moment..
So ftp might be your only way. Also the speed shouldn't a concern since it's about the same.

To clarity, do you mean it isn’t possible due to hardware/software restrictions, or just in terms of people developing applications for the 3ds that download all files?

Also, if I were to develop something for the 3ds to scan QR codes and download playable files, would that be of interest to people? (my idea was to create a YouTube “2.0” for the 3DS)

More like the latter. like i said, the existing QR code use is for downloading either homebrew apps or games. There's no homebrew software or any other way (as of now) to download other type of files, and for them to be saved in a specific directory (sd card)..

Maybe. while i'm no dev or anything to tell you how easy or hard will be.. Though any efforts to bring something new to the community is always appreciated here!

And.. Did you?

Couldn"t any file just be renamed as a .cia file, and then be transferred as QR code to the 3DS cia folder using FBI where we can rename it back to its original file type?

How exactly does QR code work "better" than FTP?

What exactly is it that you think QR codes do?
Normally, I don’t bring my PC with me to most places, so it’s much easier to just have it scan and download at slower speeds than FTP where all of my devices are free from having FTP apps open.

You can use ftp with a phone, and transfer stuff to the 3ds with it, or is that not an option for you?

Solid Explorer has a built in FTP server and client, which is what I use on my phone any time I need to transfer files and I'm not at home.

Do you just want to upload something to a remote server and then download it again later? I think you can use 3DSync with Dropbox.
