So I've had this problem for a while with my 3ds and it has been quite annoying recently. Every time I want to connect my 3DS to my internet, to play online etc, I have to disable the wifi from my phone or else it simply won't connect.
Is this a known issue? If so how can I fix it? I also manually input the ip address and gateway in the 3ds internet settings because it won't get them automatically if that has anything to do with it.

Marselu, can you name the model of your router or give a link to the user manual for it?
The model is a Multilaser N300 with 3 antennas

I MANAGED TO MAKE IT WORK. Instead of typing in the ip address that another device was already using to connect to the router, like I was using my phone's, I typed an unused one that is in the same range of the router's and for the rest of the settings I just copied from my phone's. Looks like it's working fine right now, is this a good solution or is it just temporary?

if it is:

your phone:
ip-adress: 192.168.0.123
netmask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1
dns: 192.168.0.1

your 3ds:
ip-adress: 192.168.0.134 (so only last octet is different)
netmask: 255.255.255.0 (so same)
gateway: 192.168.0.1 (so same)
dns: 192.168.0.1 (so same)

then it's ok to use.
This is how a network works without DHCP.

Set both devices to 2 different static IPs and then remove those IPs from the DHCP pool in your modem config.

Yes, this is exactly what I did. I checked in the router settings to see what were the ip addresses that were already being used by other devices in the house and just typed one that wouldn't interfere with those
