While I play no part in this, from my standpoint this is no way to run a fundraiser. I mean honestly, no word from them in such a long time would lead people to do chargebacks. While it is a fundraiser those who donated were promised a picture of the decapped chips if I remember correctly. They really should have totaled up the cost in the beginning so more money wouldn't have been needed. Cost of the 3DS, shipping, chip decapping, etc.

This is of course coming from someone who doesn't have the right to complain as I haven't donated nor do I plan to do so.

Considering that they upped the number without any explanation given, I say to choose the first option. If we actually get a reasonable explanation as to why the goal was increased, then consider the latter.

The "out" is that part about estimate of layers and how it may cost more. About not replying to messages and that update being a month old? If doing business, if your calls/messages were not replied to, how do you feel? Yeah, 6/7/13? Better be in a hospital with no way to reply and nobody else able to update if it were my money.

I'm a bit confused on the point you're trying to convey. They posted on there with that "update" stating that $2300 will cover the decapping, and taxes which apparently they didn't consider beforehand. Europe's dating system is different from the US, so they do day/month/year. So in the US dating system that's 7/6/2013 which is today.

Dear Devin. I have some news for us, along with a question.
Neimod said Jl12 only updated the donation page (that one on n-dev.net) and he updated why on 3dbrew.
That is only a correction of calculation and no news or progress. haven't sent 3ds yet.
The original plan for releasing those SEM images is "Top X".
Even it would get leaked someday from someone, but it is not allowed lol.
That sounds quite disappointing to me..
Also Neimod would not take over the job, still for Jl12.

Someone even thought you had kept the cart about nearly 1 month (lol~~~)
I know we are all waiting for those "coming" updates about that.

The info will be kept inside of this club (cat box is how I see it). Same as Wii U except NOW you guys paid and won't get the information. You MIGHT get a tweet that says, "We have private key now" and/or "We completely hacked it now." These groups are not trustworthy and now they are taking money and not delivering (not sharing images so they keep control of what YOU paid for now). I would demand my money be sent back.

One internet post is not the same as responding to emails and FB messages. You paid for it, should you not get the fruits of it? Glad Wii U is only sitting on no release and told to "Get a dev environment yourself" while they have the SDK, lmfao. We did not pay anything that I know of NOR would I pay. Sorry for you guys.

In my state they teach us both date formats and Metric/Celsius, But I can see why a date lower than the 13th can cause some conversion issues.
It's not like we didn't try to go pure metric, it just wasn't for us. For us yankies, that's how its pronounced (we say "June fourteenth" instead of "fourteenth June")

Since I imagine most donations probably come from here and DS-Scene, I can't imagine why he wouldn't update this thread (other than the colorful reasons people already offered).

I was just jerking your chain, nobody's wrong really. I've been working on some localisation stuff lately and all countries all over the world have different patterns for so many different values represented by numbers (and more). There's no right and wrong, forwards and backwards, it's all just how things develop over time. Just like how the word "ask" will be replaced with "aks" in 1000 years.

The site said "Around $2000", and they recently updated it with a more accurate number. They did not "Up the price" as all you spoiled entitled children keep saying.. Bunch of brats.

Yup.

I got a price quote from a professional lab on the deal (removal, decap, delayer, SEM imaging) and it came out to $400 per layer, which they estimate will come to "about $2000 total". Plus the cost of the 3DS I'd be donating for the hardware sample.

It's likely there was an additional layer or something, upping the price.
