Maybe you or others should upload some raw dumps of those different file formats somewhere, so people can do research on them.
Also, have you seen any 2d/3d formats yet?

Also, those narc files are exactly the same as the nds ones. You can just open them with (for example) mkds course modifier.

The only reason I have these ram dumps is because someone gave them to me to research.

Could someone dump the memory of Mario Kart 7 in-race? (I don't have a 3ds to dump it myself)
 
i tried using the ram dumper with mario kart, but it just kept crashing after waiting about 30 mins, tried formatting the SD etc but didn't actually manage to get a single ram dump and got bored and gave up :P, maybe once a more reliable ram dumper is released it should be easy enough, as i think even if you play the game then exit and perform the ram dump some assets are still loaded into ram and can be dumped that way

Yeah, that's how the RAM dumps I have work. The 3DS has poor memory management and cleanup procedures, so there's a lot of spare data loaded in the RAM not being used. That's why I have an entire arsenal of models, text, and audio ripped.
 
Okay, I would love to contribute in this project. If anyone can provide me a dump of Zelda ALBW I'd invest time into the development. This is the title I'm most interested to rip as for now.

Yeah, I learned it in Computer Sciences class, and it's my main go-to language now. I've actually gone and written the program in such a way that if you know the magic, and the offset where the file size is at, and that the file size is written in reverse, you can very easily code in new filetypes within 5 minutes. I actually ripped those NARC files with this by adding temporary support for NARC files, as all it took was five minutes to look up filetype documentation, and another 5 minutes to code in that information.

That's all I currently have. I can't dump RAM, as I lack a 3DS for doing so, but once I get the chance, I will be sure to start working on more formats and dumping more NARCs.

Hey guys ! I want to contribute too. I can dump RAM, what i have to do ? play a game and next dump the RAM ?
 
I would love to see the Zelda OOT3d stuff be dumped mostly because I'd like to work with some of the model formats. I looked at the .bcmdl from the Super Mario 3d Land samples. Would like to get more samples to compare. Would be neat to get a model importer working on Nintendos new model format.

Smea pulled apart the pokemon ones (plus textures and animations, up to and including high level tool import/fiddling), it might be like pokemon often is and subtly different to the mainline versions of the same formats but a lot of the work has already been done
