The 3DS gamepad, now officially known as the Circle Pad, will be bundled along side a special release of Resident Evil Revelations in Europe beginning January 27th. The circle pad cost almost $20 in Japan and it requires 1x AAA battery to operate. It offers a second analog pad for those who want it, the rest of the gaming community continues to speak out against it. Let us know what you think!

I don't think I am getting it...looks like an extra dead weight + it requires addition AAA battery to work? What if I play halfway and the AAA battery runs out?
I guess I will just stick to the normal controls without using the additional circle pad. Luckily it is optional!

its got its goods and its bads, but its more of like this......

at this very moment, nintendo doesnt have the kind of support to be making this kind of thing, I personally think this should of been released months ago WITH the 3ds, not as an expansion, but part of the 3ds itself. this looks as though you have turned in your final paper, realized that you made a type, quickly scratched it with a pen and corrected your mistake. but in this case, the mistake is a whole paragraph worth -.-
the expansion is too big and makes the 3ds look like it has a tumor. as tempting as it may be................ I would have to go against it :/

what in the world made nintendo think this is still a good idea? (even after the huge backlash)

Because a certain other potable gaming console that have yet to be released also have a 2nd analog stick!
So now it is more or less confirmed that the next 3DS Revision will incorporate the 2nd analog stick...

I see 1 problem :D

- I hope that the bundle comes in different colors!
I like to have the same color as my 3DS :)
So i beter state my color with my pre-order of this game then.

Very good point. Not making the attachment in red, blue, white and pink as well as black would be a massive oversight.

I'm not opposed to the extra stick (though it's frustrating that now my 3D won't fit in the case I have for it), but it'd look extra garish if it was a completely different colour to the system you had.

It's a complete and utter joke I can't believe that anyone is accepting this failure of a design.
Just give me a full console redesign not some pos ugly add on that just shows you failed in the first place.

This is one of the reasons I haven't ordered a Zelda Black/Gold 3DS.. If this becomes a near necessary add-on, the console becomes quite a bit.. Meh. Well at least it's better than completely leaving it out.

First off it's atrocious! They should have made the 3DS dual analog(circle pad) in the first place. With this addon though they could have designed it to wrap around the front, near the buttons and it wouldn't look so bad, but then you wouldn't be able to close the screen unless you took it off. I think that the second pad will probably only be used for a few select games and a majority of games will only use a single pad, at least until they release a redesign of the system.

Look to big and bulky. Better be comfortable to use, otherwise, why would you need it? To use some small features in some of 3DS?

I'll get one cause it makes it a little bigger, a lot less cramping in the hands. I enjoy the size of the DSI XL as well. I just hope they bring it out in different colors to match my nice blue one.
