I did not see this posted elsewhere so I thought I would post it here:

QUOTE said:
Irvine (CA) – The next size of flash memory is knocking on our doors: Toshiba today said that it will be shipping a 16 GB SDHC card in October and a 32 GB version in January.

Toshiba claims that its SD High Capacity is the first card of this type with a capacity of 32 GB, providing a substantial boost especially for applications such as camcorders. The company will also be offering a mainstream 16 GB version as well as an 8 GB microSDHC card, scheduled for January 2008, for cellphones supporting the HC standard.

Pricing has not been announced, but common recent price trends in the flash industry suggest that the 16 GB SDHC card should cost somewhere around $200 when released in October and the 32 GB version in the $350 to $400 range. The 8 GB microSDHC could hit the market for slightly more than $100.

While $400 is probably more than the most DS+flashcart combos prices tend to fall quite rapidly in this area (2 gig cards were considered obscenely expensive not so long ago).

well well, yes SDHC cards are super! but it is very unlikly that your ds card will work with a SDHC card... unless they make a new driver for it
I got a pda /smartphone that can't take a 4gb one and thats alot more advanced then a ds card
wink.gif
... some pda /smartphone ventors created drivers that added support. so its not impossible...

you do have to rely on the ventor of your ds card tough...

Also consider that SDHC has been around in SD cards for a while, so nobody should expect such high capacity micro SD to be released any time soon.

Then apparently my DS Flash Cart. is more advanced "then" your PDA.
I have a 4GB MicroSDHC and I can honestly say that it's too much.

32GB is WAAY too much for DS cart usage, that's like every single DS game ever released with room for days or weeks of movies and music. If anything, I'd like a 4GB one to put all the data from my seperate 2GB cards on one convenient storage medium. I just wish the R4 supported SDHC

Speak for yourself. I need all the gigabytes I can get because I use mine also as a video and mp3 player.

its ideal for me

at least a 16GB one.

NDS Games - 4.5 GB
GBA Games - 1.5 GB
Music - .5 GB
Movies/Video - 3 GB
Pictures(comics/manga) - 5 GB
Homebrew Apps/Games - .5 GB

I would personally go for 16GB microSDHC cards as soon as they cost around £50. Will wait patiently and by then next-gen Slot-1 will be out. We, also, have to remember that DS games are getting bigger(ASH 256MB) and the amount of games coming out for DS will soon mean that people would have to move to SDHC cards unless they are happy to keep few games.

I also wish R4 supported SDHC cards as I do not want to buy another cart just for more storage space.

I can fill a 2GB but I wouldn't really want any more, after 2GB it just begins to get silly. Who actually has the time to play all those games?

Earth to flai, there are other things you can put on a DS besides games. Movies, music, manga, books, etc. I do all of that, plus games.
