Hacking 3-in-1 exp. burn time? Saves?

1. How long does it take to burn GBA roms to the cart? (from an R4, if it matters)
2. How are save games handled?

Standard NOR burning times, normally between 1 and 4 minutes depending on size (once it is there though it is there until you drop it).

I believe saves hang around in the SRAM until you pull them to your R4.
