Yes, tho you're limited to USB 2.0 speeds.
I'd personally say upgrade the internal HDD to a 2TB one but USB would work.
Just make sure you set your scanpaths to the USB.
My friend can I direct change the disk and copy all files to new disk or must I format wtih special software the 2 TB disk before installing inside? Thank you for your help.I don't know if it's a bog standard 2.5 inch SATA drive but you could do some research if it's a SATA drive in there, you could it and place it internally.
In the end it's up to you, USB works just as well as internal tho I prefer things internally.
