the original company that distributed it in N.A. (Freeverse) has since discontinued it

I loved the mac version and i can't wait to play this one! It doesn't seem to be working on my visoly though so i might buy it... does anybody know how to make it work on a visoly xtreme 64 mbit?

this game is a lot better than GTA, where gta runs slow basicaly 100% of the time, this runs slow whenever you get in a fast car.. which goes about the same frame rate as GTAA, plus these graphics are fully 3d giving it a reason to have a choppy framerate, where as GTAA used mainly sprites. I think these games are better suited for 3d, but the couldve used a bigger size cart to help with the texture distortion and frame rate in some areas

I played some of this game, here are my observations:

1. You drive on the left hand side of the road! (I love that)
2. The graphics have a lot of sweet FX added (even sparks)
3. The framerate is acceptable to me (usually around 20fps)
4. You can't save until you finish a whole city
5. The tank is insane!

I like this game a lot more than GTA:A and I'm a GTA fanatic.

It is imperfect, but it won't leave my flash card in the near future (NFS:U2,FF1&2,Payback)

This game actually feels much better when u get used to the game controls etc. after that it's much much better than sh*ty GTA Advance. (that's my opinion)

even tho both games r pretty much same in terms of frame-rates, there is sooo much detail to the environments in payback.

It was inspired by GTA1 PC, that's why. He looked at GTA1 and added/changed all the things he thought would make it better, and came up with a whole new game.

Finally some positive aspects. The game is awsome, ive already spent hours just checkin levels out cause i'm kinda far. I also like that there are lots of secrets in maps. Im gonna write a review for this soon. I estimate 8/10. IMO, it is better than GTAA and mainly only ahs slowdowns when explosions occur or a crap load of action or when you fly the helicopter. The controls actually arn't that bad, course fire fights are a bit tricky.
