Hardware Laptop says SD card is write-protected when not locked?

I'm having an issue with my laptop's SD card reading.
It's definitely something wrong with the laptop as I've tried multiple SD cards and each time it says it says the same thing, that the SD cards is "write protected"
Furthermore, those cards don't have any issues in another laptop I've tested with.
I was wondering if anyone has had this issue before and/or would know how to fix it.
I'm hoping its a software issue rather than a hardware.

This is what an SD card reader looks like inside, see that pin on the side that pushes against the write protection slider? That pin is defective in your reader, maybe bent out of shape, stuck or broken. You could try cleaning your SD card reader carefully.

i have been getting that a lot today n my USB sticks eveytime i try and do someting with my psx classic
