I'm assuming you mean the entirely gold/yellow cartridge? There are thousands of flashcarts labelled R4i-gold. If yes, then yes it has a timebomb. 2024 is the year, and I'm pretty sure they like September. It's not irreversible, it just puts the cartridge into a "sleep mode". A temporary fix is just to set the time back before the date it is set to sleep. It can also be fixed by downloading the new firmware as it is released, or you can use YSMENU as a permanent fix. An R4.dat file exists somewhere to set YSMENU to boot instead of the flashcart's own firmware. I haven't tested this, however, I just researched it a while back as I have the 2017 version.
