  • people still complaining about expensive headsets willfully ignorant to the fact that the quest is the switch 1 equivalent to the rest of the industry

i know it's not an accessible industry but this gets whined about every single time vr is brought up ever since the quest came out and gave people the option to experience vr albeit in an extremely compromised and barebones fashion

to put it in perspective, imagine if someone bought a switch and then any time gaming was ever mentioned, the only exclusive thing they would say is that the PS6 is too expensive and unobtainable

that's probably true to be fair but also please whine about something else for a little whole

See on that Pimax thread I don't think it's so much complaining it's expensive as it is complaining they claim it's affordable lol. It's surely got the specs to match the price and maybe even be good value, but affordability is an entirely different scale.
wanna quit a website? just randomly generate a 50 character password and make your browser stop saving your password for that site so you have to manually type it every time
it's weirdly comforting to see gta 6 of all things be given the time it needs to cook instead of being rushed out

gta 6 more like gta bricks because it makes people.... i'll stop talking now
there's not much that feels worse than seeing someone being in the condition you used to be in but not having the tools or simply the willpower to change it the way you know its possible to
how does the monkey ball series keep messing up like just do a direct port of the gc games and they'll sell more than any of the remakes have
realistic graphics? no thanks i'll play the stylized game and save myself a couple thousand dollars every year
to the switch 2 doomers acting like games going higher than 30fps on switch 2 is a scam:
when someone tells you to touch grass it actually means theyve lost touch with reality to such an extreme that theyre now trying to level up your agility

    hatred is just a circle

delusional DnD addict gives insult -> insultee is actually the normal one but then undoes that by turning around and then returning the favor-> repeat

every day it gets more tempting to just abandon laptops and get something like a steam deck instead for work, lazy gaming, and whatever other functionalities

I've never really been a fan of laptops. I've always found they let me down when I needed them the most. Either lacking the IO I need at the time or the batteries crapping out in no time at all. I have played around with creating a "luggable" based on a Mini-ITX ... maybe one day

My previous laptop was a Clevo and I got 10 years out of that one, so if they are still anywhere near that reliable they may be a good choice.
I had to replace the keyboard twice, which was $30. Also had to replace a fan once, which was about $20. Membrane keyboards have never been the most reliable TBH, but it's about all you can fit in a reasonably sized laptop. But the repairs were easy so no big issue.

But I do agree. Even the best laptops are flawed. You're always compromising in some way. As customizable as Framework laptops are, they still don't offer all the options I would personally want in an ideal world and doing that would just make them prohibitively expensive. Which is why I could never use a laptop as my only PC.
That being said, they're among the better options.

Just my 2 cents though. As much as I dislike HP and Dell laptops specifically, I've also supported many hundreds over the past decade that've worked totally fine.

the acer part is interesting because that's the only brand i've had 100% good experiences with across all different types of products

@Mama Looigi oops, you're right! I was gonna say how I'd seen a ton of videos on the NorthridgeFix youtube channel about how he receives so many of them to repair, but I was mistaken, it was ASUS laptops, not Acer. Acer has a crazy low number of repair videos from there actually.
