months later it has power supply issues and constant bluescreens/freezes

i contact customer support, they do the whole routine of bullshitting and stalling for a month until they finally give the option to have it sent in for repair, estimate it would take 5 days to receive the laptop back

over the next 2 weeks they give radio silence and dont respond to emails, so i spend hours waiting on a call to be able to actually ask about the situation and the very based individual i wound up talking to confirms my emails were indeed being received and just ignoring it, and just gives me the direct number to his department

so anyways today i learned they lost the laptop after receiving it

I think HP makes fairly ok equipment, but only in business/enterprise grade. Don't know if they ever made a consumer-grade product that isn't awful.

HP: "Horrible Products" or "Hinge Problems" or "Huge Pile" lol.

Can confirm, from my time working in IT, Don't buy damn near anything HP. Especially laptops and printers. Their servers are alright though (technically HPE, but, still)

Had no problem with them myself. The extra fruity flavour is a bit too much, but the normal one is stellar on a steak pie.

HP's were okay at best before they were bought out by Lenovo in 2012. Then they decided that HP would be their consumer brand, since then I have just avoided HP completely. To be fair tho most Customer Service sucks in 2025 I've recently finished a battle with TP-Link but I'll spare you the details haha

I would say the same about Acer.
Everything I had with that brand was garbage tier.

@Sicklyboy any recommendations on other brands to look out for?

@Mama Looigi I would -stay away- from Acer and Dell (and HP). I don't have many recommendations -for- brands these days unfortunately. Lenovo is really the only one on the list I can immediately think of that would in general be a strong consideration.
