Before I go out and get my wife a new set of joy cons, I'm wondering if anyone out here has found some third party besides for the Hori split pads that they like. I haven't seen any that have amiibo support either so if you know of some, let me know here.

I love my Binbok joycons. I have the original fatties and just bought a second set of the slims.

They don’t do Amiibo, but I use emuiibo to emulate them so it’s not that big a deal.

I second the Binbok ones. Larger and more comfortable than the official joycons, and with one back paddle on each (which you *can* map to a button from the other side with some help from the Switch's remapping e.g. set Screenshot as an additional A button, then map the left paddle to Screenshot. This also works on the Hori SPP, but as you probably know, those only work in handheld mode). There are some other brands that seem to be pretty much identical: Nyxi, Nexigo, IINE &c.

ISTR seeing some fairly plain looking third-party joycons with Amiibo support, but it might have been the GuliKit KingKong 2 https://www.gulikit.com/productinfo/737791.html pro controller. Searching just now only comes up with the BestFire GameCube-style ones https://www.reviewgeek.com/76068/th...a_anchor_BestWithAmiiboSupportBestFireJoyCons, which are not very good - the sticks' range is smaller than the octagonal gate, which is in any case aligned wrongly (the *corners* should be in the main directions).

Oh wow, they really botched up their attempt at cloning the GC controller, getting such a basic thing wrong.
I wonder if it's a patent issue? Perhaps Nintendo patented the 8-directional gate (or some manufacturer of arcade hardware patented it) but then you'd think the bigger issue would be the blatant copy.

sup Binksy do they even have a reset button or just a hole for it xD? Plus what fw do you use on them and is there any page with firmware updates? One more buttons and d-pad are they conductive rubber or like in OG rubber and metal caps?
