I just recently installed CFW (should be the latest version; I just did it yesterday) on my New 3DS, and decided to try setting up some Virtual Console injects now that I have the ability to do so.

The thing is, only ten of them seem to have installed correctly, two installed very weirdly, and the rest aren't visible on the home screen or in FBI at all. I had initially installed 17 different cia files at once, so I assumed that maybe that was a bit much for FBI to handle in one "session", and tried again with only the ones that didn't install... but that didn't really change anything. If it's relevant, I'm using the 3dsx version of FBI on this SD card, mainly due to laziness (though I plan to switch over to the CIA version here, too.) The specific games I installed are...
{NOTE: All "latest" versions of patches referred to here are as of 7/29/2021; one day before the posting of this message.}
  • EarthBound Beginnings (NES) — Patched with Tomato's retranslated script. Installed correctly.
  • Dragon Quest (NES) — Patched with the latest version of Choppasmith's Project RE-Quest Mobile Script Port and Relocalization. Failed to install; not visible on home screen or in FBI.
  • Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line (NES) — Patched with the latest version of Choppasmith's Project RE-Quest Mobile Script Port and Relocalization. Failed to install; not visible on home screen or in FBI.
  • Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation (NES) — Patched with Reiska's spell name modernization patch, Eggers's Bugfix patch, and Chicken Knife's Spell and Sprite Bugfixes. Failed to install; not visible on home screen or in FBI.
  • Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen (NES) — Patched with Jegriva's sea monsters bugfix. Failed to install; not visible on home screen or in FBI.
  • Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light (NES) — Patched with Megakoopax's update to Quirino's translation patch. Initially, it didn't show up on the home screen, but it did show up in FBI. I was able to launch it from there, and it actually worked just fine! ...Except pressing the home button revealed that it had "replaced" Fire Emblem Gaiden (listed below), despite the small menu icon remaining Gaiden's rather than Shadow Dragon's. It still launched correctly in this state; into Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, even! But upon checking the Titles list in FBI again, Gaiden had vanished from the list, being replaced with Shadow Dragon there, too. So, I dunno what's up with all that, and it's one of the questions I'm coming here to hopefully find the answer to.
  • Fire Emblem Gaiden (NES) — Patched with Gaiden Guy's name update version of Artemis's English translation patch. Initially appeared to have been installed correctly, but... See Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light above.
  • Final Fantasy (NES) — Patched with the Restored version. Installed correctly.
  • Final Fantasy II (NES) — Patched with the Restored bugfixes and enhancements and the latest version of ChaosRush's Refurbished translation. Installed correctly.
  • Final Fantasy III (NES) — Patched with the B-button dash and the latest version of ChaosRush's Refurbished translation. Installed correctly.
  • Final Fantasy IV (SNES) — Patched with the latest version of the Namingway translation. Installed correctly.
  • Final Fantasy V (SNES) — Patched with the GBA script port, the bugfix patch packed in with that, and the "B-button dash always available" patch. Installed correctly.
  • Final Fantasy VI (SNES) — Patched with the Woolsey Uncensored edition modifications. Installed correctly.
  • Chrono Trigger (SNES) — Vanilla US release version. Installed correctly.
  • Radical Dreamers (SNES) — Patched with the latest version of Demiforce's translation. Installed correctly.
  • Sylvan Tale (GG) — Patched with the latest version of Aeon Genesis's translation. Installed correctly.
  • Moldorian: The Sisters of Light and Darkness (GG) — Patched with the latest version of LIPEMCO! Translations's translation. Failed to install; not visible on home screen or in FBI.

These games were installed through FBI, from CIA files created using the latest versions of @Asdolo's "Ultimate [platform] VC Injector for 3DS" utilities, as linked to in this thread.

It's probably pretty obvious at this point, but I really have two questions here:
  1. What is the cause of those games' failure to install, and how can I avoid this issue in the future?
  2. What the heck was going on with Fire Emblems 1 and 2 there?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the response!

And, I did! But unless there's some hidden, more complete version (or I'm somehow looking at the wrong page), the lists of titles that have been checked for compatibility are pitifully small for every console but the GBA- and the PCE VC emulator is just flat-out missing!- so it's not really much help, unfortunately.
