ROM Hack Nintendo Switch checking for internet before boot, unable to check weather save data can be backuped

Hi

My Switch has been offline, and set as a primary console, i never used switch online on this switch before. My issue is when i try to boot a game it tries to check for a internet connection even when am offline, and i get a error saying unable to check weather save data can be backup to the cloud. Is there any way to make it stop doing this?

I am using: Atmosphere 19.5, Firmware 12.0.0, FAT32 256 SD card.

You shouldn't be using cloud save with CFW, you just going to get banned.

am not as i said, i never used cloud service before yet with curse of the moon 1 & 2 yet those games still check for it while offline before booting

You can try 90DNS or Exosphere to block communication with Nintendo server, Incognito can also be consider but it doesn't seem the app work on higher firmware.

Have you tried airplane mode? Also, since you've never used the Switch's Online service, I can assume you do not have a "primary" account on that switch?

i rather be offline like i am right now, idk why these games are doing this, seems like drm junk

i guess i have used online on this console when the service was free years ago but the system is set a primary, all other games seem fine except Bloodstained curse of the moon 1 & 2 they try to connect to the internet before booting and give the error "unable to check weather this software supports backup using the save data cloud service"

By a primary account, I mean, did you set up an account with Nintendo Online Service? I know some games restrict booting when not using that account. Airplane mode can only be turned on in handheld, so make sure to do that before docking it.

I dont use internet anymore on the system, and the games do boot but this long drawn out error message is annoying, is this normal for those games, because ill gladly just get them on pc drm free

I personally have never run across that message and I have both games installed on my hacked switch. If you don't use the net on the system, have you tried to boot either one while in Airplane mode? I'm mostly just curious if that message gets ignored using that method. Besides that, both games are usually pretty cheap on Steam during almost any sale.

whats the point of airplane mode if am already offline, also how do you not get the message, those 2 games i get it every single time and i never used cloud service before its really annoying

I don't see the problem of turning ON Airplane mode if you are already offline lol It's literally one button press. Like I stated before, my Switch has a primary account created, and it is always in airplane mode. Those are the things that are different on my device.

airplane mode did nothing, and there must be more differences on your system if i get the error messages and you dont cant just be few small changes

Afraid not chief. I also am running Atmosphere and probably at a lower firmware than you (10.x). It can absolutely just a "few small changes", but I wouldn't know what they are other than 90dns, which is used to block all of Nintendo's servers.

Upon some testing Curse of the moon 1.0.0 has this issue and curse of the moon 2 latest update

am now using Curse of the moon 1.1.0 and Curse of the moon 2 1.0.0 and it no longer forces a check or save data. i highly suggest you try the update versions above to see if you can replicate those issue
