'Cyberpunk 2077' returns to the PlayStation Store later this month

Half a year after having been pulled from the PlayStation Store, Cyberpunk 2077 will return to the digital storefront. The news comes from an official regulatory filing by CD Projekt Red which reads:

In relation to Current Report no. 66/2020 of 18 December 2020, the Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw hereby publicly discloses the decision by Sony Interactive Entertainment to reinstate the availability of the digital edition of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store, effective on 21 June 2021.

However, those playing on the original PS4 might still face performance issues, according to a statement from Sony to news outlet Polygon. “SIE can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-listed on PlayStation Store starting June 21, 2021,” a Sony spokesperson told Polygon. “Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. SIE recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience.”

So its still crap but Sony have decided they want your money anyway.

Nah, to be honest the game is pretty playable right now even on PS4 base/slim.

It's pretty clear that the problem wasn't the console but the lack of optimization and over time they finally managed to make the game run well on it.

Unfortunately I can't say the same for the base Xbox One version, it has improved a lot since launch but the frame-rate is just awful for me to recommend.

Admir it the game is still buggy. Not the disaster it was but... even the PC version is not a game I would recommend.

You can get a similar yet better experience with GTA Insert Name here and is a lot more fun and polished. Granted is not a Cyberpunk game but whatever.

lol so no big changes, they're just slapping it back onto the PS4, but with a warning that it'll really suck unless you own the shiny fancy new PS5. No thanks.

Sounds like PS5 envy to me.:P

I tried it on PS4 when it came out and the loading times were horrible. The bugs are overblown, by far, in comparison. Ofc imo.

On a PS5 it's nice, but seeing how the project team shifted focus to improving the game, I felt like I would have more to gain by returning to it after a few patches.

Now I'm considering waiting for the PS5 optimized release and wonder if I will ever finish this game.

I played it on ps5 :P and hated the jank

I still think it's ridiculous to let it back onto the ps4 platform with no sure idea of when patches will make it acceptable, or when a native ps5 version will launch.

Can't wait

Haha maybe Cyberpunk is supposed to give you a look from the perspective of a virus infected cyber-enhanced person.

Interesting. I have a PS5, so with patches, the game should be perfectly playable.

But is the actual GAME itself any good? That's what I'm worried about.

I played this on my PS5, and it was an awful experience... At first it played fine and maybe crash every other hour. Then one I started progressing more, it started crashing every 5-10 minutes... This eventually pushed me to refund the game. I will never pay for this game again, I can tell you that for sure.

I've been playing it since day 1 on a ps4 pro and never had many issues. It did have some graphical glitches here and there, but that was it for me (this when it came out, haven't played in a few months).

So a cynical shove past the certification process, again, before it's delisted... Again.

Reminds me of how miserable Arkham Knight was on PC. Only this is on a console where the user isn't allowed any reasonable recourse lest they have their console and account(s) banned.

I mean just because some people didn't encounter bugs does not make the game good. People start their opinion saying they had a bug free experience.
It should be bug free to begin with. That's not something to praise.
The real thing about this game was the cops spawning out of nowhere, absolutely stupid npc AI, no water physics?, and so much more.
Some people liked the story and some people liked the graphics but the gameplay wasn't polished.

I really wanted to buy a PS5 to play this in high resolution with good graphics.
But I havent been able to get my hands on a PS5 yet :( and it doesn't look like I'll be able to anytime soon. Damn scalpers.

So, I might just buy this on the PS4 (forget PC as I'm not really into PC gaming, I prefer the certainty and stability of consoles).
It won't look great, but from what I understand, I can play it on PS5 too when I finally get my hands on the console. I'll just replay it with better graphics when I can then.

Do not buy this for base PS4, it performs so badly and crashes so often as to be an utter waste of time. (PS4 pro is OK.) Wait till you can get a PS5 and the price of cyberpunk should drop further and it will have better patches. Maybe even a bespoke PS5 version.
