  1. Since you switched from SX OS to Atmosphere, its possible you are missing the patches to launch any backups that you have installed or are trying to install. You can find those patches in the pinned thread on this forum
  2. I don't recall the technical reason but the Switch remembers any game launched even if the game is not currently installed. For example, the first time you insert a cartridge, it creates an icon without any save data. That icon will persist even if you remove the cartridge. The only way to remove it would be to properly uninstall the game which you would do from the System Settings
  3. You can use Checkpoint but it cannot be the one from the official GitHub page. It needs to be recompiled and updated for firmware 12.X but for some reason, the developer has not gotten around to doing that. SciresM has but since he only updated it for firmware 12.X, he may have introduced and/or kept any bugs in it. If you want an official release of a save manager that works on firmware 12.X, JKSV is a great alternative
  4. Personally, I don't see the point in starting completely fresh as SX OS and Atmosphere have little to no compatibility issues so most users tend to not have any issues when transitioning CFW. Some users have gone as far as keeping a dualboot of both CFW in the event TX updates their CFW or because the exclusive features of SX OS are too tempting to give up
i updated sigs but i will again as i think its a fresh updated build. im curious as to why some games have cloud symbols but still play?

As I previously explained, the console remembers every title you play regardless if it is currently playable or not. I am assuming all of these games were installed on your previous SD card so now that you are on a fresh and new SD card, the games are missing but the icons will remain there unless manually removed. Therefore the console displays the cloud icon which is another way of the console telling you that the games need to redownloaded or installed to be playable.

I get that but actually play with the icon. another thing I noticed was when using tinfoil: Spyro will be my example. Under installed I go to delete tittle then it shows me the base size and update size, but under system settings/manage software it says 0.0 mb. Is tinfoil just showing me general info about Spyro or it’s actuall installed content?

Its more than likely telling you the general info about Spyro. If it was installed onto your last SD card and you did not install it in any way, shape, or form on the new SD card then there is no way it is actually installed. I'd sooner trust what the console itself is telling me than a homebrew application.

Dumb(me). That makes sense
Now to beat a dead horse, why would the game still play with the ☁️ icon? Under settings it says software and update (installed)
BTW, thank you!

I'm not saying its your fault but the issues you speak of don't seem related to Atmosphere. I have never ever seen anyone in my 3 years of the Switch scene see someone complain about Atmosphere being slow or buggy especially compared to SX OS. In fact, I've seen the same complains about SX OS being slow and buggy compared to Atmosphere. This means there must be something wrong with your setup that is not related to Atmosphere or SX OS such as your SD card. It might be worth verifying if it is real or not with a tool like FakeFlashTest. As for your games, you need patches which you can find on the pinned thread on this forum.

Try launching the homebrew menu by holding R over a game. Also Atmosphere doesn't replace HOS so firmware updates do not behave differently in CFW. I wouldn't necessarily recommend updating to firmware 12.0.2 as no games require that high of a firmware plus some homebrew applications do not work on that high of a firmware. A good firmware to be on now is anything on 11.X

Thanks for all dude and for all the support, my sd was faulty, so i buy another one and now all is back again.

Whenever I launch TinWoo Installer I get a prompt about hbmenu running in Applet Mode.
Should I disable this? I don't have any installed titles yet.
That message appears whenever you launch a homebrew application via an Applet such as the Album. While homebrew applications can run in Applet Mode, it will be at the cost of reduced RAM available to the homebrew. Majority of homebrew applications do not require the additional RAM but if you ever find that the homebrew application is crashing or performing insufficiently, that would be the time to switch to launching the homebrew menu via title override otherwise known as holding R over any title.

Installing patches is as simple as plopping those files onto your SD card and merging the folders when prompted to do so. If you need a link to the patches themselves, you can find them in the pinned thread of this forum.

Anybody got a tutorial to update to the latest firmware with Atmosphere? is it just a simple update using choidujour?
ChoiDujour only supports up to firmware 6.1 so you cannot use that program. What is recommended to use is the homebrew application Daybreak which comes bundled with Atmosphere nowadays. The app itself is pretty straightforward and self-explanatory on its usage. The tricky part is downloading the firmware files which cannot be linked as they are copyrighted material so you will have to locate those yourself. Once you have found them, you place them on the SD card and launch Daybreak then follow the prompts as necessary.

Hello all,

Long time lurker first time poster... so you know i'm really stuck

I'm trying to get my Erista sx core modded switch updated to atmosphere. It's currently on 10.02 OFW with emunand sx os 3.05.

I've followed numerous guides sthetix (migration and just running atmosphere) and rentry.co I've even tried to reformat the card and only install atmosphere with the license.dat file and sx gears.

The problem that i'm encountering is that anytime I attempt to boot up atmosphere i'm getting a blank screen. I've never been able to see the atmosphere logo I can always revert back to my sx os and it works no problem.

Does anyone have suggestions on what steps I should follow in order to get to atmosphere?

Is there any detailed guide on how to install applications with TinWoo Installer. I've tried to upload with ns-usbloader but I get a failed to install error, so I would like to make sure I'm doing everything the right way.

Hello everyone. i´ve bought a hacked switch online with rcm dongle and sxos already on the included card.
i can boot sxos just fine i can also update sxos currently i´m runing ofw 8.01 and sxos 3.1.
but i can´t run any games be it nsp or xci EXCEPT horizon chase turbo. all others give failure messages like insert game card or the firmware is too low or simply an error has occured.
after looking online i found that i might need to update my ofw but i also shouldn´t because then i lose the ability to start any cfw. other people said i need sigpatches to prevent the game from checking wether the latest ofw is installed (what are sigpatches and where do i get them if i need them at all?). others said since i´m using sxos i wouldn´t need those and games should start just fine, which they don´t
others said tinfoil would take care of that. just installed the latest tinfoil
it runs just fine but i get the exact same error messages i also got when trying to install games from the sxos menu.
as you can see i don´t know anything about this and the more i read the more confusing it becomes.

When you try to launch Atmosphere. is it with fusee_primary or Hekate?

I don't know of any which may be due to how straightforward it usually is to install .NSP files but make sure you have the patches, enough free space, and are on a firmware that supports whatever you are trying to install. If there is a specific error code, that can also help to identify the issue.

I updated my switch sysnand to 12.0.2 and updated hekate and deep sea to their latest versions. Now when I try to boot into my emunand I get an error instead. Does anyone know how to fix it?

That program ID refers to qLaunch. And the only time qLaunch would result in an error code is if it was modified via a theme. Therefore your solution is to delete your theme as themes are firmware-specific.

First of all, remove that link. HBGShop is considered warez because you can download games with it so it is against the rules of this forum to even post their URL.

Secondly, the root of your issue is your firmware but the workarounds and roadblocks you mentioned are not entirely correct. If your console is unpatched, which I'm assuming it is since you use an external dongle to boot CFW, then you will never ever lose the ability to launch any CFW no matter your firmware. That dongle takes advantage of an exploit in the hardware of your console therefore your software, or firmware, is irrelevant when it comes to hacking the console. However, being able to hack the console and launch CFW are 2 different things. Since you are using SX OS, you must be aware that it currently supports up to firmware 11.0 due to TX not updating their CFW in several months now and there is no sign that they will update it. Thus you will need sooner or later a CFW that supports higher firmware versions and that is Atmosphere.

Thirdly, which connects back to Atmosphere, are the patches needed to launch backups. SX OS does not use or require patches as those are baked into the CFW itself. Atmosphere, however, requires external patches in order to run backups. These of course are readily available and can be found in the pinned thread on this forum.

Fourthly, I can try to explain the last point you mentioned. People mention this point because certain title installers have a feature that allows them to bypass firmware requirements. While this is true to an extent, the name of the feature is misleading; not all firmware requirements can be bypassed. Games are built with SDKs, or software development kits, that are tied to specific firmware versions. Without recompiling the game, these requirements cannot be bypassed or ignored no matter what you do. Therefore, it is inevitable that you will have to update your firmware in order to continue playing the latest releases. Some users either forget or do not realize that and believe it is possible to make games work on any firmware version but this is simply not true.

thanks for the info just deleted it. altthough it seems the shop is shutdown anyway but that´s beside the point ^^

yeah it is unpatched i just checked the serial number. so can i just update to the official latest firmware right from the switch menu then? or do i have to get some kind of special version or patch it or load it in any specific way? will sxox still work then since it only supports up to 11 and the latest is like 12.02
if possible i like to stay with sxos for the time beeing i only want to play some games besides horizon chase turbo and don´t need the newest ones.

Well if SX OS supports up to 11.0 and you update to the latest firmware which is 12.0.2, what do you think will happen? Alternatively, you can update to a specific firmware version with a homebrew application such as ChoiDujourNX. Using it is relatively simple as all you do is download the desired firmware files, place them on the SD card, and install them from within the app. The tricky part is finding the firmware files as they are copyrighted material so they cannot be linked or shared on this forum even via private message.
