everything should be UTF-8 without BOM in the language file, that's why there's a "é - do not edit or remove that line" at the top of the file, to force file editors to save in UTF-8 instead of ANSI, or other encoding.

Did you try to actually ... write anything else in place of "option" or "start" in the language file ?
just to see if you see ANY other text in appearing in these empty button and only these korean words would be the issue ?

nobody has any issue on these buttons with all other languages.

Thank you for your reply :)

It works fine on r1261 built by Koreans. Unfortunately, only built dol files exist as below link,

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HtOduANYz5D8ShbVi-GUs4npI4gMzTxb/view?usp=sharing

Another one, about I mentioned picture. Play Count = "실행 횟수" is print out and no problem on screen.

If there is a problem, all should not be printed, but it is really strange.

Thanks again for the reviewed comments.

@geoGolem, @blackb0x, @Cyan

After testing geoGolem's cache build i was inspired to implement caching in other places to speed things up. The attached patch will cache Wii, GameCube, EMUnand headers and static sorts. Settings and cache reset have been integrated into the settings section. My load times went from 60-70 seconds down to 6-8. All the filtering options in static sorted lists are nearly instant with large collections. Check it out and please feel free to make suggestions or add improvements.

Patch includes:
Header Cache system
List Cache System
Cheat Download Fix
Missing Cheat Downloader
wow I will finally be able to download the cheats on the usb loader but how do I use this patch; -; (I'm a layman)

My versions been able to download cheats since 2019. And late last year I added the caching options by Oddx into my version and have since fixed some of the issues it has.

wd elements is a very good make/model. I use their 2TB version for my wii u's wii u hdd. it's using a y cable, since it's not self-powered. I think the vwii is using a wd blue (can't remember). I only buy western digital.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I put the wd blue? in an enclosure with a toggle switch. I'm playing the vwii right now in fact. that's what I think it is. it's also 1TB.

What are some external USB HDDs available in 2021 that have been tested and found to work well with USB Loader GX?

Pretty much can't go wrong with any of the Western Digital Drives.

I personally have used the larger self powered MyBooks all the way up to 10TB, but now prefer to use the WD P10 Game Drive at 5TB and also the WD Passport drives. I never owned one of the WD Elements drives but have heard they also work. These smaller drives seem to work fine without using a Y-Cable, but for a few bucks you might want to have one just in case. When I build someone a setup I always use the Y-cable just in case the USB port becomes weak.

To get all USA Wii & GameCube's on one drive you'll want a 5TB, otherwise anything from 1TB to 4TB will work depending on how many games you have.

What do u mean? Mario Kart Wii WAD? Mario Kart Wii is a wii disc-based game, which do not come in WAD format

Post a syscheck please
https://gbatemp.net/threads/posting-a-system-check.300279/

Also, am I correct in assuming the freeze happens after trying to launch the game? Not the cfg loading screen (I. E. The first screen u see before even your list of games is displayed)

So I ended up getting a 2TB WD Passport for the vWII HDD.. (and identical model to the one I'm currently using for my WIIU HDD) .. I realize 2 2TB HDD are overkill, but they were cheaper than the 1TB counterparts, and I may eventually use them for something else, who knows..

I was previously testing with a 32GB flash drive for the vWII HDD.

if both drives are plugged in, usbloadergx freezes on "reinitializing devices" -- which occurrs because I am using loader IOS 249. I guess it first loads with 58, then reloads with 249 -- i needed to do this because if I was using just IOS 58, I had to unplug my WIIU HDD or else usbloader would load, but then say "usb device not initialized"..

I have now switched back to IOS58, and just make sure to unplug the wiiU HDD before launching usbloader GX... I prefer, this to it freezing at reinitializing as seen with IOS249...
---------------------------------------------
Prior to switching back to IOS58 I did discover the following interesting behaviour:

If I turn on my WIIU with both HDD connected. Launch vWII mode. Unplug WiiU HDD, launch usbloader gx (IOS 249), it will run perfectly fine (same as with IOS58 with WIIU HDD unplugged). If I then press home button, exit to wii system menu, plug the wiiU HDD back in, and launch usbloader gX again, it will load fine even with the WIIU HDD plugged in.

It would be so nice to be able to just leave both HDD plugged in, but for now I am using loader IOS58 and just unplugging the WIIU HDD prior to launching usbloadergx. With IOS58, if I forget to unplug the WIIU drive, it will launch and give message no device initialized, switching to channel mode, I can then just unplug wiiu HDD, exit and relaunch usbloadergx and all is well. This is preferred to the situation with IOS249 where it will freeze on "reinitializing devices" if i forget to unplug the wiiu hdd - this requires the wiiu to be unplugged and replugged which is not as simple as just exiting usbloader, unplugging the hdd and relaunching usbloadergx..
---------------------------------------------
If anybody has any insight into why usbloadergx freezes on "reinitializing" hdd if the wiiu HDD is plugged in - it would be greatly appreciated.

I tried also official usbloadergx 1271 (as opposed to 1272 or the enhanced version) - but this always freezes at "initializing device", so its worse IMO..but I did not test or fiddle with it as extensively as I could have..

When it all works, it works well.. Just some issues with needing to plug/unplug the usb
Hi, Have you found any solution to this issue?

Feature request

Patching of GXSetCopyFilter to disable it from setting the vertical filter, also known as 'deflicker filter'.

This is present in many games such as Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart Wii, even when Wii is set to 480p, and ULGX is patching video mode to 480p, and ULGX is applying 480p pixel fix.

Patching is fairly straightforward -- just find and replace a string in all dols in the image:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/possibl...-de-flicker-filter.477163/page-6#post-9473338

This is confirmed to be working for all games tested so far by manually editing the dol in a hex editor.

That might work, but it'd probably be better to look at Swiss and copy how it's done there. I don't own a USB Gecko though, so I can't easily make the required changes and then confirm that it's all still working correctly.
