Why the new moniker and not just a 2? I thought we were over this phase Nintendo. You'd think that they'd have enough new content to label it a sequel.

I think companies avoid numerical sequels sometimes to avoid putting off newcomers to the series. New makes it sound like it's something fresh and detached from the original.
Not sure if that's what they were going for, but it does carry some sense with game titles. More sense than using new for consoles names anyway lol

Releasing a significant sequel with massive changes after 22 years is not really the same as re-releasing the same game every year with slightly updated rosters
Didn't play the original so Ill probably see it for what it is, a shallow rail shooter without a gun

No, its not a sequel, its the same crap, who cares if its not had one since the cube.
Still remains, everything nintendo do is the same crap.

I'm not really complaining so much as I'm genuinely confused. Not saying the game is bad or anything because of it, I just think it's a weird name because it won't be "new" forever. Makes more sense for a game rather than a console like the 3ds though. Like what @Scarlet said.
