Was excited to hear we could safely push it higher, I thought finally I could play some games with decent resolution at a stable 30, since that's all I want and some games struggle as we all know. I got all hyped and kept on reading only to find that my poor granny erista's battery doesn't like that one bit, but glad to hear other people on the newer models can have fun with it.
The most I usually do is sdev oc on the cpu and sometimes 921 on gpu, or 460 handheld. I don't mess with charge/official charge caps in handheld, it can already get above 50c in some games with just that little bump. Other games I underclock where I can.
Also as far as I know the main bottleneck is the gpu clock whenever I start dipping frames, is 921 the absolute safe max that erista can handle. Like if you only wanted to oc the gpu and leave the rest at stock? If I'm reading this right then is the answer yes, max 921? (talking docked/official charger)
Because from what I've read it's the motherboard that can't handle it, not the battery or soc, but I can't tell if that's true for erista or that people are talking about mariko? (probably been asked before, I'm sorry but I can't always tell which model ppl are talking about, so understand if ppl get mad)
Still, I can't believe some of the clocks people are getting on the newer soc, it's crazy if they can be maintained without significantly shortening the lifespan. Still glad to have a switch I don't need a modchip for though, my tiny soldering leaves far too much to be desired haha.
