People get banned all the time, sometimes for obvious reasons and sometimes for reasons not disclosed. Nintendo has expressed their policy and penalties about using CFW and HB. The Switch uses logging and has been shown to get banned when those logs are wiped or are inconsistent with records Nintendo keeps on their server side. There is always risk when modding and using CFW. The mitigation is to try to be as safe as possible. Using Daybreak when you can use the official update method is an extra and unnecessary step which only adds more possibility to be detected via log investigation--which Nintendo hasn't updated... yet.
You have to yet to show the people that have been banned. I too can make wildly outlandish and egregious claims without evidence to backup my words.

The Nintendo folder being used for CFW on emuMMC is stored in a seperate subdirectory, assuming you are using CFW with emuMMC. It shouldn't be shared.

My CFW has emuMMC what I do now is I use my switch lite for OFW and my normal switch for CFW. I have 2 normal switches one with atmosphere and the other one with SXOS both are dualbooted but both Sysnand is on 9.1.0. Sometimes I want to play online on the TV but I can't because of the switch lite

Lol. People get banned. Whether or not you believe that is also inconsequential to the definition of "unnecessary risk".

If your using RCM payload methods to boot into your emuMMC CFW, then that is the known safest way to have both a CFW and a clean system runnable from the same device. You should be able to update the sysNAND with no problem and use it legitimately. Since you have two, I would leave one not updated--maybe the SXOS one, if you are holding out on potential future developments. Also, doesn't hurt to have an older FW just in case there are future exploits you'd be interested in exploring.

I never doubted people got banned. I doubted people got banned for the reasons you specified. Whether or not I believe them is inconsequential to the definition of CFW carries a ban risk.

I use the jig I don't like using autoRCM had too many problems with it in the past. My SXOS switch is like a backup switch and my Atmosphere is the main one I use for CFW.

I rarely use my CFW as much as I used to in the past I normally use the swtich lite.

That's fine.

Yeah, I dislike autoRCM. Not really as necessary for me. I use OFW too often. I usually have my switch always on/docked. My phone can pass a payload and I can store a jig in the case if I want to travel with it. That's usually when I keep it turned off.

It's a pain to have autoRCM unexpectedly drain your battery.

When I do use my switch I put it on sleep mode and when I'm finished playing with it I'll cut it off so I'll leave it in sleep mode for a few days after heavy usage and I only play my CFW switch on the dock. I used be a non-believer but once you play the switch on dock mode it's hard to return to handheld mode lol. I also use the payload on my phone but I recently bought more of the payload boxes from aliexpress so hopefully it comes in the next 2 weeks.

People say if you use the jig alot you will messup the railings but if you use the jig maybe once a week it shouldn't effect anything. The same thing would apply to the SD slot if you take out your SD slot once a month to put new games on your switch would be fine but if you take it out daily then yes it is a possibility it will break.

Some jigs are better than others. You don't want to use a metal that is harder than the contacts in the switch rail. Unfortunately wear and tear is still going to be a factor. Hopefully I get bored of my Switch long before it decides it's bored of me.

For those that like to tinker and a DIY'er, I bridged those two pins in my joycon and connected it to small tactile switch button that pretty much sits about a mm above the case at the back. No longer I need to use the jig, and never had any issue with accidental button presses during game play, been like this for a few years now.

I'm sure there are YT tutorials on how to do this, for me, I looked up what pins are required to be bridged and I winged it.

The better question is how long is the switch actual lifespan. My vita is nearly 9 years old and it works good but then again I hardly touch it. It's going to boil down to the battery since the battery will degrade over the length of time. My 3DS also still works good but once again I hardly play it eventually all physical hardware will break hopefully emulation is up to speed by 2030. Not to mention by that time HDMI will be extinct and will be replaced with something else If Joycons are having issues after a year of gameplay I can imagine 5 years of usage. That's why I use controllers when I play on docked mode versus using the joycons.

anything is possible with how technology is going. That's why my PS2 is preserved and I just use the emulator on my gaming laptop versus using the actual console. The PS3 isn't there yet so I still use my PS3 and it's pushing over 10 years old.

Agree, the only issue I have are batteries, I had a few devices where the battery started to bulge, lucky batteries are still easily available and somewhat easy to replace but not looking forward in many years to come.

As for my Switch, I have gone through about 5+ analogue sticks due to drift, I have a few spare sticks and just change them when they play up.

I personally never experienced drift but what I normally do is just use a wired controller on dock mode. I did buy a pro controller but I didn't use it yet. The wired controller is nice but it feels weird because it doesn't rumble. I try take as good care of my systems so they can last a very long time. I just hope in the near future all the current gen can be emulated on a computer because if not we will be at the mercy of the big corporations

He is using Atmosphere SXOS only supports 11.0.0

It will be updated soon. SciresM is really dependable on supporting Atmosphere, so it will probably be supporting 12.0 within a week.

I've thought about setting up an extra SD card to try SX OS out, but the uncertainty surrounding any future development is wanting. It is probably advisable to switch to Atmosphere... or at least to set the option up.

Or two, ninty rewrite a lot of stuff and atmosphere require hard work to run again
